Most of us know the Chelsea Pensioners in their red jackets, but how many know the whole background to the Royal Hospital. Visiting the complex makes for a fascinating experience and we were there for several hours, splitting our time with a coffee break in the excellent Cafe. The Chapel and the Great Hall are stunning, the Museum full of interesting stories and artefacts. Tours can be booked via the official website, but bear in mind that access is available without a tour and without cost.

Very interesting preserved house of the famous Thomas Carlyle. The garden is lovely and preserved the way it would have been in carlyles time. The house is managed by the NT and the guide was very helpful ( no tours, you're allowed to wander freely and to take as much time as you want) the house is very much as it would have been with loads of information so even if you're not an expert on Carlyle and his life and times you will be quite informed ! I approached from the kings road area.

I photographed at this venue a numerous occasions and never seems to fail impress the guests. While the ceremony rooms are beautiful and intimate, the grand reception room is absolutely stunning! The outside staircase is a great option for group shots and there are several nice spots around Kings Road for further wedding photography. Great venue, great location.
