“St Mary Magdalene is designated a Grade I listed building. The piers of the crossing and the west tower date from around 1220, while the spire dates from around 1320. This large Gothic structure features an aisled nave, a clerestoried chancel, transepts, and a single tower topped by a spire. A two-storey porch with a library is located on the south side, and a vestry adjoins the south chancel aisle. The exterior boasts decorative parapets, except on the south aisle, where the west end terminates in a large gable with a tall window, creating an asymmetrical front. The church is constructed of ashlar masonry.”
