At initial stages, the cathedral was serving as a chapel for a minimal number of Catholics in the locality; as the population of the community increased, it needed expansion to accommodate the rapidly growing population. St John’s Cathedral has an inviting and pleasant ambience which attracts people even from the neighbouring community to attend the masses, prayers and other events. The cathedral offers a wide variety of activities, including arts and crafts, board games and a two-course meal. They serve tea and coffee before the Civic Mass.
