We have a gorgeous 5 month golden retriever named Honey. Having researched puppy training and on reading Emma’s reviews, we thought we would invest in 121 training. It has been incredible! Emma is so calm, relaxed, fun and competent. All of the training is working with Honey. We have had three sessions, the first one was longer. Emma has helped us train Honey with regards to settle mat, resource guarding, walking to heel, calling halt on rough play, leave it, drop it and recall. The training will be on going as Honey is learning all the time. Honey is a real foodie so the settle mat training has been invaluable. We’re loving having a puppy again. Emma has given us the confidence we needed and we’ll continue with it all so that Honey reaches her full potential. She’s growing fast and we want her to be a beautiful, happy adult dog. Thanks to Emma, we’re now confident she will be.
We cannot recommend Emma enough! We contacted her for help with our mini dachshund, Douglas, who wasn’t food motivated and struggled with reactivity around other dogs on walks. We had no idea what to do.
After just two sessions, we have seen HUGE improvements. Emma has taught us how to read Douglas’s cues, lean into what he enjoys, and handle slightly more ‘tricky’ situations.
For the first time, we are all enjoying our walks, and we can see Douglas relaxing. He is paying us more attention and is motivated by the food we have for him. It’s such a joy to see him happy on a walk.
We’re so grateful and will be booking more sessions to improve even further. Thank you Emma!
We will definitely be looking to book more sessions once we have worked on what we have been given!
Thank you Emma
I wholeheartedly recommend Emma’s dog training and her tailor-made dog behaviour programme. Emma’s expertise, gained over many years, is matched by her talent to adapt to each of her clients’ (human and furry) communications styles. Her patience, empathy, and sense of humour make each training session a joy and, consequently, the best environment to learn. Recently, I have shadowed Emma and her new clients – Jason and his amazing 18months old German Shepard, Hank – during their training sessions and, as someone who has been working with dogs for over 14yrs at an animal shelter, I can unreservedly vouch for Emma’s invaluable professional help. For instance, in less than two sessions, she succeeded in helping Hank and his loving, devoted guardian, enjoy walking in a park and on busy streets without having to deal with the usual, taxing behaviour that most reactive dogs have (barking, lunging at other dogs etc). It was deeply rewarding to see such a miraculous progress and to admire how the three of them – Emma, Hank, and Jason – communicated in the most effective way. During their last training session, we all walked across a big park for over an hour, met several dogs whether off or on lead – all this time Hank was busy sniffing the freshly cut grass unless he took short breaks to acknowledge, attentively but not in a reactive manner, the other dogs, children, or joggers. Every time he checked his immediate surroundings he made repeated eye contact with Jason, or with Emma. For a young GS who less than two months ago would qualify as a truly reactive adolescent dog, Hank’s new behaviour proves that a tailor-made dog training programme, such as Emma’s, and his guardian's commitment to applying it, of course, is ideal indeed!
