Daniel listened to our initial thoughts and ideas for the Orangery. He then proposed some ideas, which enhanced our original vision. Then, using his design expertise, he has turned the vision into reality. The Orangery is a superb space that can be used throughout the year. The space is flooded with natural light, from the bifold doors, the large window and the two rooflights. We originally planned to have one roof latern, but are so glad we took on board the proposal from Daniel to have 2 rooflights. Daniel dealt with all of the planning stage, providing all the necessary information for the Orangery to secure approval by planning. He also appointed a building inspector to ensure the Construction was in accordance with the design and therefore compliant with the building regulations. Daniel is totally professional, was so easy to work with, and his design was meticulous in its detail, which greatly assisted the Contractor during the construction phase. I fully recommend Daniel for any architectural work you may be considering.

Daniel Matthias was referred to us by a prospective builder, to do the drawings for our '80s rear extension remodel. We'd talked to a couple of other architects before meeting Daniel to discuss the project, but as soon as we met Daniel at the initial site viewing we knew we'd found the right practice for us. First impressions were how friendly and professional he was, taking much more time to understand our requirements and making alternate suggestions, despite our project only being relatively modest. Daniel also explained the various stages of the process in detail. We've just received the stage 2 Concept drawings from Daniels colleague Helen (who was equally friendly, professional and understanding of our requirements), slightly ahead of schedule despite it fast approaching the festive break. We're now excited to progress the project through to completion with DMA in the New Year. His colleague was the architect for our work and she did an excellent job considering the amount of changes we asked for.

Daniel and his team were brilliant, he had some great ideas and really helped us reimagine our home, from a dated 1950’s house to a modern 4 bed home.

James was very helpful from the start of the design process and throughout the build. We encountered a minor issue with the design during construction and were very impressed with how he worked to come up with a solution that we were quickly able to implement. His communication with both us and other parties involved in the construction was very prompt and professional. Both my wife and I would highly recommand Hough Architecture.

We asked James to design a kitchen extension and recommend other internal modifications to make better use of the space. James came up with some great ideas that we hadn’t thought of, including external features. James designed a downstairs extension for me in Holmes Chapel. He replaced the old porch with a larger space with downstairs toilet, skylights and work bench and sink and opened it up to the rest of the house. His design was incredible and despit the small size really changed the entire house for the better. His passion for buildings and designs always shows and I am now looking at another project with him He drew up the designs and guided us through the process of building regulations, etc and recommended builders. He even came round during the build stage to help with queries and concerns. Less than a year later it’s all complete and we’re really pleased with the result. Would definitely recommend James.

James has helped us transform a dated 1970s shocker into a home which is full of light, and now looks beautiful inside and out. His ideas and choice of designs were inspirational and we would highly recommend.
