Whist submitting planning applications for the redevelopment of the Faraday Road Football Ground as a community run stadium Ian Blake (IB Architects) provided invaluable advice, support and detailed plans / diagrams to ensure that the planning applications, submitted by NCFG, to provide a new 3G pitch and new Club House / Stand at the current Faraday Road Football Ground & was unanimously approved by WBC’s planning committee. Ian Blake (IB Architects) fully understood the challenges that NCFG faced, their objectives and limited resources but was happy to remain involved in what was (and still is) a long-running and challenging campaign. NCFG is a Community Interest Company (CIC) incorporated in 2016 In late 2015, as a direct consequence of West Berkshire Council’s decision to prematurely close Newbury’s only community football ground - Faraday Road Stadium, without a commitment, let alone a plan, to replace it, Newbury Community Football Group (NCFG) was formed.
