“Cooper Gallery was established in 1914 and celebrated its centenary in 2014. The gallery is ideal for showcasing a wide variety of art collections, beautiful artwork, and exhibitions. Cooper Gallery is one of the five free attractions managed by Barnsley Museums, which are well-known for their family-friendly activities. It holds a permanent collection of 400 works of art ranging from the 17th to the 20th century. The gallery is accessible to visitors throughout the year. Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is responsible for its ownership and management. Cooper Gallery is an exciting art space in the heart of Barnsley town centre. The gallery features a wide range of contemporary exhibitions with work by international, national, and local artists. Cooper Gallery offers free admission to all visitors.

Welcoming and knowledgable, i have used Woods for framing for many years. Nothing is too difficult, and they are superb in guiding you to a perfect picture frame and mount to compliment and enhance your picture. I have also bought artwork, and love the local themes they capture. Highly recommended.

I have used J & K wood gallery on two occasions for framing. They offer a fast and reliable service with great value for money and the art is lovely to look at while you wait.

Gives good advice when you take something for reframing. Me and my son have purchased some lvly artwork.

The Civic, Barnsley provides great access to all the arts not only for the town but the whole of South Yorkshire. The exhibition space and the team who organise it are second to none. They produce shows that are museum standard.

The team is always welcoming, and I feel right at home every time I visit. The performances are top-notch, making it a cultural hub in Barnsley. I’ll definitely be back.

I love how the gallery engages with the community through its events. The staff are so helpful and make sure every visitor feels valued. I had a lovely time exploring the art, and the atmosphere is simply delightful.
