“The Boathouse Uphill is a family-run business. The cafe was built on the side of the cliff, a defining feature of the café to this day. Much of the old chandlery charm has been preserved in the café, with replica boats, fishing nets, and maritime memorabilia on display. Start your day with a hearty breakfast or choose a lighter option if you are heading out for more strenuous activity. Breakfast is served until noon. Their range of cakes will boost any coffee date they have personally selected based on their quality and flavour. Dog-friendly, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and disabled access, they cater to groups in all weathers.

2025 Update: The Boathouse Uphill prides itself on being more than just a place for a caffeine fix. “Stones Cafe is situated on the Knightstone Causeway in the listed old theatre complex. We went in for lunch after our Nordic Walking group finished our walk. What a pleasant surprise. Tired We were.but the welcome from staff and the way they served us was just amazing. I ordered a Tuna Mayo jacket potato and so much filling given that had a problem looking for the potato inside. Best food and service. Not many cafes like this one left. Keep up the good work..

We came here yesterday & it was a lovely place. We sat outside as it was decent weather. Took my son’s dog along to the beach which she loved. Came back & had lunch. It was served very quickly with large portions & pleasant staff. We hope to be able to come back again.

This is the best cafe, being gluten free intolerant and vegan there are options. The staff is always accommodating too. Highly recommend for dog owners too.

STONES CAFE REVIEWS

We visited with our dog for breakfast and all I can say is what a brilliant place. Very dog friendly, they gave our four legged baby a bowl of biscuits on the house and the young lady gave her lots of fuss. We had to wait about 30 mins for food although they did inform us of this beforehand. Food was cooked as requested and was very tasty. Would definitely recommend. I didn't catch the name of the young lady that served us but she is a credit to your business (dark straight hair tied back).

Lovely cafe, food and drinks are always amazing, a lovely place to go. The staff are always friendly and the service is fab. Does get busy so just be aware of that if you're really hungry lol! Kid-friendliness: Toys for kids to play with Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to the doors and double opening door access.

Great friendly place. Perfect location. I visit with my dad and our dogs regularly. Great atmosphere and really yummy food. We will continue to be regular visitors

TIFFIN AT THE BEACH REVIEWS

We had Tiffin's high tea this afternoon which had been a wedding gift. It was absolutely gorgeous! The scones were light and delicious. We had both fruit and plain scones, 4 different sandwiches, mini quiches and various Tiffin cakes...... everything you could want. The waitress couldn't do enough for us. What a wonderful treat!

Excellent service from the staff. We sat outside in the sunshine for a coffee. Beautiful views over the sea and peir. Quick service, lovely coffee (strong) and hot chocolate. They also offer a very large choice of teas, cakes, breakfasts and other light meals. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Take aways can be ordered. Street parking is free nearby. Really enjoyed the experience and will revisit again.

Just wonderful! Superb venue, stunning sea views and excellent service. 70th birthday lunch. Food stunning x Will definitely make the journey to come back here.
