“Our Lady, Help of Christians is designed in the Gothic Revival style and is the first Roman Catholic church built after the Reformation. A mission was established in the town in 1845 by Fr. S. Ward. During the 1880s, the mission was served from St Joseph's Church in Bedford, which catered to a congregation of 180 people. On January 20, 1884, the mission was dedicated to Mary Help of Christians, with its first Mass celebrated by Fr. Joseph A. O'Connor. Later, in the 1880s, an iron church was constructed to accommodate the growing congregation. They are a lively and active parish with over 70 nationalities. Our Lady, Help of Christians offers three Sunday Masses at 9:30 am, 11:30 am, and 5:00 pm, and a weekday Mass at 12:45 pm.”

“2025 Update: Stopsley Baptist Church is an extended family, growing and being transformed in Jesus Christ, and sharing the good news wherever they go. Alex Davie is an Interim Pastor and SBC Elder. He has been part of Stopsley Baptist for over 30 years, having had a life-changing experience of God when he was 24 in the building that is now the GreenHouse. The main Sunday service happens in person at 10:30 am every week, and they love to welcome you, though the service is also available online at the same time via their Facebook and YouTube. The end of each service with time to connect over tea, coffee, and conversation, as it’s a great way to meet people and share news.”

This Church is so close to my Heart. They welcome us with their warm Hearts full of Love & Care. And my lil girl was Baptised there. Now, I am really disappointed we can't attend those Church Masses & all , as we moved from that city. Thankyou Rev Mike, Rev Andy for your prayers & Love especially the Admin Dear Ulrike Hunt. Lots of Love & prayers .

Lovely church work magnificent stained glass. Unfortunately some of its great treasures, medical helmets and gauntlets are locked away in storage.

It's a wonderful place to be in the present of God, and with his people.

OUR LADY, HELP OF CHRISTIANS REVIEWS

Our Lady Help of Christians is a truly peaceful place for prayer and attending the holy mass. The serene atmosphere here is perfect for refreshing the mind and finding solace in your spiritual journey. I've had the privilege of visiting this Roman Catholic church, and every visit has left me feeling spiritually uplifted.

A very friendly community parish with various masses on Sunday and they get to serve you some tea or coffee after mass in the hall, if you choose to stay around a little.

Such a calm church to sit and talk with Jesus along with Mother Mary & St. Joseph

I was there for an eye appointment. The church wss kind enough to host the NHS as, I assume, my avaricious 'let's add 60% to our patient list yet cut the GP number by 60%' GP surgery wouldn't host them, for some reason. Distancing was good, facilities were excellent and everything felt very safe. Good job, church of the Baptists!

Wonderful place to worship and great teaching. As a venue, great selection of rooms. Big open space upstairs for concerts, services or big events, downstairs several rooms which can change size. Staff friendly and it is always clean and well maintained.

Cannot thank the Eye Screening Team enough for taking care of me when I was having a diabetic related, low glucose episode. They went above and beyond. Ten out of ten wouldn't be nearly a good enough rating. Thank you.
