“Dance Base offers a vibrant studio in Edinburgh and serves as an uplifting focal point for dance as an art form, a way to exercise, and a way of life. Tony Mills is the Artistic Director at Dance Base. Tony is a dedicated supporter of the breakdance scene in Scotland. He helps organize and host significant dance events, including the Castle Rocks Breakdance Championships, Breakin’ Convention Edinburgh tours (2007-2017), and Breakin’ Rules at the Dundee Rep Theatre and The Brunton. The dance studio has been an independent company promoting and delivering dance activities in Edinburgh since 1994. They aim to inspire well-being and creativity and cultivate a future for dance in local, national, and international communities. They strive to offer equality of opportunity, regardless of experience or access needs. Dance Base caters to dancers of all ages and abilities. Their four world-class studios provide dancers with excellent facilities and an inspiring atmosphere in which to dance. They deliver over 100 classes in more than 40 different forms of dance throughout the year. They support a rolling program of paid opportunities for dance and movement professionals, including artist residencies, scratch nights, surgeries, and professional development events.
