We'd been having issues with our new, rehomed dog and had a call and then a session with James. He immediately had a great read on the dog even on the call and a genuine interest in not just resolving the behavioural issues but giving us the agency to resolve, understand and address the root cause. We thought we had a few separate issues with our dog but James helped give a really cohesive view of how and why these issues derived from the same place. This nuance and guidance is something we would never have stumbled upon ourselves without his help. While we might have gotten to a point where our dog was behaving better, the journey to get there would definitely have been more arduous and difficult for our dog.

We can’t recommend James at The Dog’s Way highly enough. From the start, he was patient, understanding, and genuinely committed to helping both our dog Milo and us as owners. Despite being experienced dog owners, we quickly realised that some of our well-intentioned habits were contributing to Milo’s reactivity. James coached us with empathy and clarity, never making us feel judged and always taking the time to explain the “why” behind each approach.

I can't fault James on a single point, you could throw a thesaurus worth of compliments at him and every one would be accurate. Reading the other reviews I can relate fully to each one and would recommend without hesitation.

After trying several other trainers with little to no success, we finally found the perfect fit with Chris and Jacob. From the very beginning, they have been nothing short of amazing — incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. It’s clear they truly understand dogs. They took the time to get to know our dog personally, spending quality time to pinpoint exactly what his challenges are. Their approach is thoughtful and tailored, not one-size-fits-all, which made a huge difference. Our dog is still a work in progress, but for the first time, we feel hopeful. Chris and Jacob have already made a noticeable impact, and we’re confident that with their continued support, we’ll get to where we need to be.

Absolutely fantastic. Jacob travelled to us to help with an anxious dog. He was so patient, really took the time to explain not just what to do but crucially why we were doing it. Absolutely no pressure to book multiple sessions, no hard sell, and a fantastic manner with Skye. It's a joy to meet someone who knows their specialism so well but can explain it to us in simple terms. Cannot recommend the company enough.
