“M.A.D Dog Club, M.A.D. stands for The Merone Academy for Dogs offering training classes for dogs of all ages and breeds. It is a family-run business that uses only kind and non-aversive training methods. MAD was opened in 2006 by Maureen and Malcolm Merone, who have a lifetime of experience with dogs, specialising in Border Collies. Their expertise stems from over 70 years of pet dog ownership and work in various capacities. They offer a wide range of training options to meet the needs of every dog and owner. In the past, they worked on competitive obedience training and competitions, sheepdog training and trials, and dog and duck demonstrations. Currently, they focus on training and competing in agility. They train dogs using reward-based methods to motivate them, build a lasting bond, and help each dog reach its potential. They are proud members of the Pet Professional Guild and stay up to date with the most advanced training theories and practices worldwide. MAD Dog Club offers a variety of weekly training classes that build on skills learned in puppy or beginner training courses. They also run workshops throughout the year aimed at developing specific skills such as loose-lead walking, recall, and addressing behavioural issues.”
