When I came to Canterbury I already had bad experiences with taking my tests in london as well as instructors. So i basically was put off driving until my friend in Canterbury recommended the Tarmac Guru to me. Mark had helped me a lot with driving and not only that but discipline which is a life skill and calming down my nerves before the test. Mark is genuine good teacher. Which is hard to find at times because some teachers are simply in it for the money and dont care about your circumstances. Thats the reason why i made the effort to travel to Canterbury for lessons with him so that i could get the best lessons. I recommend the Tarmac Guru for beginners and people that had failed their driving test before. The teaching is fun and different plus you meet an amazing person too! :)

When I started I had built a real fear of driving after failing two tests and leaving two other instructors. Mark (aka The Tarmac Guru ) completely rebuilt my confidence and I can't thank him enough! I passed my test yesterday but the most important thing is that I now actually enjoy driving. Mark was really patient and easy-going but also clear and direct. He made a real effort to have regular lessons with me, especially in the month before my test, which helped enormously.

After passing my driving test, I would like to say a big thank you to Mark for teaching me to drive with patience and humor. I feel so confident now and it is all down to his instruction. He made lessons a pleasure as we drove, talked and laughed our way around town. I am a very happy lady.

I was delighted and relieved to pass first time with two minors. Gary did a fantastic job in calming my nerves and helping me to gain more confidence on the road over the course of the past month. His explanations were always engaging and easy to understand. A huge thanks also goes to Marcello for teaching me all the basics. I would highly recommend the John Harvey Driving School for its excellent customer service and for its dedicated, knowledgeable, encouraging and patient instructors!

Passed my Driving test today First time. John Harvey Driving School were excellent teaching all I needed to know. Chris taught me till he went automatic then came Gary they were great helping me with my Nerves and giving the confidence I needed. Regular lessons that fitted in my busy life schedule. Would highly recommend. I learnt manual but they also automatic if you prefer.

My instructor Jarno Keen was an excellent teacher, can’t rate him highly enough. Patient, knowledgeable and an all round good bloke who made the lessons enjoyable. My experience with John Harvey Driving School was really positive and I’d definitely recommend them.

Muhammed is an amazing instructor. He made my driving journey so much easier by his constant encouragement, observations and patience. He made sure I was ready for my test and that we worked on the skills that I needed to make me pass. He is also super kind and a great person. Totally recommended.

This guy is a brilliant driving instructor. He was very patient, encouraging, calming and a genuinely nice guy. He helped me pass within a week, which I didn’t think I could do. I can’t thank him enough.
