IBIS CAMBRIDGE CENTRAL STATION REVIEWS
The hotel is located directly across from the railway station about a 20 minute walk into the centre of town. Check in was easy and the staff very friendly. The room was very clean and tidy with everything you need for a pleasant stay. A good night’s sleep with no noticeable noise and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a buffet with a choice of hot and cold food. I thought the hot food only average but there were several other options.
Room was clean a functional. Staff very friendly. We had a pizza here (decent) with a couple of beers on Sunday night after all the other pubs had shut, as it has a 24 hour bar and food until 3am. Right next to the station, which is maybe 15 minutes from the heart of the town centre, fine if you're happy with a walk, there looked to be good bus routes too if not but I didn't test that. Two pubs also in the same location serving food plus daytime food outlets such as Pret and Greggs. I'd definitely stay here again.
Surprised at how comfortable and quiet it was. Had the bonus of finding street parking nearby which was free Saturday evening and Sunday. Breakfast was good. Only criticism was the pod bathroom which squeaked and was a bit noisy.

GONVILLE HOTEL REVIEWS
A wonderful experience!! We held our small, intimate wedding reception here and everyone could not be more obliging. From booking the terrace with Abby, who catered for all our needs with ease to Ricky who looked after us on the day, all was fantastic. Our bespoke afternoon tea was beautifully seasonal and made our special day that more memorable. Thank you to everyone at the Gonville - superstars!
A really excellent hotel, lovely decor, friendly and helpful staff and so dog friendly it was actually remarkable how nice they were. It is perfectly located and we have a lovely view over Parker's Piece. Only downside is the £25/night parking fee which feels very steep for what is a very not cheap hotel, but for a special treat you just have to accept it. Massage at the wellness centre also excellent, so all in all completely recommended but just be aware of the parking cost.
We had delicious afternoon tea which included salmon-avocado toasties, finger sandwiches and cakes. The scones (both raisin and plain) were outstanding. Definitely 5-star scones here! The surroundings and gardens are beautiful and relaxing including a very pretty orangerie.
