2025 Update: Carreg Cennen Castle is located on a high rocky outcrop with views of the River Cennen. Owain Glynd attempted to besiege the castle during the Welsh Revolt but failed. Later, amid the Wars of the Roses, it was handed over to the Yorkists and deliberately damaged in 1462 to prevent it from being used again. Now the castle is visible and was apparently constructed by John Giffard and his son John. Carreg Cennen Castle features a square courtyard protected by strong walls and towers. The structure features six towers of distinct shapes, including an imposing twin-towered gatehouse on the northern side.
