“Crewe War Memorial consists of a Britannia bronze figure standing on a square pedestal. The Memorial was constructed to memorialise those who died in World War I and II. Initially, the sculpture was placed in Market Square and was moved to Municipal Square in November 2006. The memorial is designated as a Grade II listed building in the National Heritage List for England. The figure stands approximately 2.7 meters high, while the pedestal measures about 3.3 meters. The foundations for the memorial were laid in September 1924. The construction of the Crewe War Memorial uses high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The sculpture is well worth a few minutes of your time if you are in Crewe's town centre.”

LYCEUM THEATRE REVIEWS

Visited the Lyceum for the Elton John by Candlelight performance, a great fun evening for all. The theatre is a wonderful place, well looked after, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Parking can be tricky, but that is the only downside to a visit. Special mention should be made about how helpful the front desk staff member was when we went to book, with regards to my wife's disability and access needs.

Wonderful ballet in a lovely theatre. The Nutcracker here was as good as I have seen in the Royal Opera House, and the ballet matched that of performances I have seen in the Sydney Opera House and Metropolitan Opera House in NYC. The staff were incredibly understanding when my daughter who aspires to be a ballerina and wanted to see her first ballet (favourite movie is Ballerina, her favourite book is the Nutcracker and she attends ballet classes) had a meltdown close to the interval. We are sorry for the impact this had on everyone and have learned she needs to be a few years older to be immersed in a performance without feeling overwhelmed. In a few years time we'll look to come again.

Love this little theatre: really fabulous old-school theatre, with bags of character. It’s small enough to feel really close to the stage wherever you’re sitting, but big enough to not feel cramped and claustrophobic. They have some really great productions and big acts on too, and great value for money. Love it.

CREWE WAR MEMORIAL REVIEWS

We visited Crewe and as we walked into the town center we passed Municipal Square and came across this War Memorial. It is right in the centre of the square and is a very large bronze statue of Britannia standing on chains and holding a trident and palm leaf. There are names of those who gave up their lives in the world wars from Crewe. around the memorial.

In my opinion this is a really magnificent memorial monument which show how much it is worth for the people who live now. This Knife Angel was made from cold iron to blend with the knives which were used in the past crime scenes picked up from all streets in the UK and family members will never forget.

A magnificent war memorial in the heart of Crewe town centre. With ample seating surrounding it.

I love a library! Crewe library is warm and inviting. Well stocked with books, catering for ages 0 - 100. Tha staff are welcoming and always helpful. I have just been to my monthly book club run by Catherine, a librarian, and we always have a good natter about books read, books recommended and it's lovely to socialise with like minded people.

I used to use the (old building) library each week for many years & found them very helpful & friendly indeed. And twice since the move to this new building & yes, still great staff.

Friendly and welcoming library Very helpful and always try to arrange some extra activities that to bring more people in.
