There's a gap between not being able to play guitar, and calling yourself a guitarist. Fortunately for complete beginners like me, Terry fills that gap like a patient, encouraging, musical Buddha. Terry has had to earn his corn with me: I was a total novice, didn't even own a guitar, and was implacably left-handed to boot. Now, a year on, I do call myself a guitarist. And I've added electric guitar to my fledgling but growing skills. Terry's a natural teacher. He adapts his teaching style to suit your needs, and gives you the skills and confidence to achieve your playing goals - he doesn't try to shoehorn you into a "one size fits all" learning program. The lessons are genuinely enjoyable and effective - as you make different breakthroughs and pick up more skills, you realise that despite the relaxed nature of the lessons, you're never sitting in a "comfort zone", but you're being guided and nudged along a path of continuous improvement. One caveat: Learning and playing is addictive! In less than a year I've gone from a borrowed old guitar to a splendid new acoustic, two brand new electrics, and amps!

We know how difficult it is to motivate teenagers but my Son's put guitar lessons at the top of their priority list! They clearly have a fab teacher that inspires them, therefore they want to learn more and more and get better and better. No need to nag them to practice, only to put the guitar down. Terry is an excellent guitar teacher and would highly recommend to any budding new starter. Patient, professional, great listener and provides very well organised lessons with quality content and teaching direction.

Sam has been my 12-year-old son's drum teacher for around 18 months. He has kindled my son's enthusiasm for playing the drums, and has been an excellent teacher. As these lessons happen in school time, Sam has sometimes had to navigate problems such as timetable changes, which he has done with grace and professionalism. Sam is definitely a 5-star teacher.
