“Musica Kirklees works with children, young people, and adults from diverse backgrounds, providing musical opportunities across Kirklees and the Huddersfield district in West Yorkshire. The academy was formed in 1992 as an alternative to a fully funded music service by Kirklees Council. They offer schools in Kirklees the opportunity to apply for individual or small group tuition on behalf of their pupils. Musica Kirklees delivers tuition to over 5,000 pupils through Whole Class Ensemble Tuition and an additional 2,400 pupils in small-group instrumental tuition. They guarantee a minimum of 30 lessons per full academic year or pro-rata. Musica Kirklees has a small stock of instruments available for loan to students receiving Option A, B, C, or D tuition on a first-come, first-served basis. However, they do not loan guitars, ukuleles, recorders, keyboards/pianos, electrical equipment, or percussion instruments.”
