My son really looks forward to his piano lessons with Gill. He's six years old so enjoys her fun and creative approach to lessons, and it's great to see him enjoying music and learning to play for fun. He's really gaining in confidence and enjoys practising by himself with the books Gill recommended. Gill is very professional and flexible and we highly recommend her teaching.

My 3 children and I take keyboard lessons with Gillian. My daughter also takes guitar lessons. The lessons follow a structured learning process that means that we all learn music theory as well as technique. The lessons are fun and enjoyable and are geared well to the difference age groups. We all appreciate the progress we are making week on week.

Gillian is a friendly, approachable teacher who really connects with students, building knowledge and confidence while inspiring creative exploration through an enriching musical journey.

If you are music lover in reading or visiting reading this is such a lovely place to visit. I had some time to kill before my train and I am so glad I went in. The staff were lovely, helpful and personable. I think they do lesson because I could hear lovely piano music drifting from upstairs. Most pianos I have ever seen in one room and the guitars were wonderful to look at, the also sell guitar straps and music book the sort. Don’t know what else to tell you, if you are looking for a music shop this one has a great vibe.

Very good staff, good value and excellent service. We have rented musical instruments from Hickies for some time (violin) because as you child grows then you can size up the instrument without the hassle of buying and selling. We are now on our third violin, might consider buying the next one from Hickies.

Took a couple guitars in for set ups and a splendid job done indeed by the in house luthier. Friendly staff and one of the historical faces of Reading town!
