“Etherow Country Park is one of the most widely visited parks that has 240 acres of green space that offers various plants and wildlife. The park provides resources for motor boating, sailing, and angling. This park is a wonderful place to go for a day out, surrounded by beautiful scenery, walkways, and multiple lakes. Etherow Country Park hosts events, annual programs, themed walks, and community tasks. At Etherow Country Park, light refreshments are available for purchase in the café for their clients.

2025 Update: The park is home to over 200 species of plants and more than 100 species of birds. There is a pay-and-display car park at the park.”

“Bruntwood Park provides sporting and recreational facilities to all residents. The park offers an excellent play space to the Borough of Stockport, and visitors from Bruntwood Park in the North West region offer a range of carefully selected and landscaped equipment, providing valuable resources for adventure and enjoyment. The park has ornamental gardens, wetlands, waterways, mature woodland, ponds and hay meadows. There is a large, well-equipped play area and a separate toddler play area. The fully accessible children's playground takes centre stage. The original Victorian conservatory has been repurposed into a café for visitors wishing to relax in the pleasant surroundings. Visitors with the appropriate protective clothing can enjoy the world-class BMX race track at the park.

“Vernon Park is spacious and accessible. This is an exceptional Victorian and Edwardian asset to the local community and the North West region. Vernon Park offers unique spaces for traditional pastimes, such as crown green bowling and beautifully restored formal and informal parkland areas. ETHEROW COUNTRY PARK REVIEWS

Most beautiful location whether it be a sunny or a gloomy day. The sights are adoring, the waterfall is quaint and it is spacious enough for a roaming walk. Some parts better than others for prams, but to walk around the lake is no problem at all. If you want to hike through the forest, then as it states, this will be a hike, so good calfs, a rucksack for drinks and food, and away you go. On site parking cheap and food shop also with amenities.

Nice Park for autumn walk. Parking site had good space. Marked walking trails and not too difficult. Had benches in between to sit. Nice lake and canals and plenty of ducks/geese/seagulls to feed. Benches present for picnic. Water Weir (small water fall over the steps) was Nice. Public restrooms clean. Cafe present too.

Beautiful park with a lake. Multiple trails. Probably you can spend the whole day. Car parking is not free. However, it's relatively reasonable. I saw many people fishing. You need a licence probably for this. Cafe is there besides the car park.

Beautiful for any season Park, just off Kings Way A34, for whole family and friends to have a beautiful walks! Free Disable parking and Play Area for kids! There is car parking facilities paying through RingGo, making it convenient. Couple of Cafés on side serving food as well as hot beverages. Public toilets near parking, next to the Children's play area. Highly recommended!

Beautiful park with footpaths and trail walking and running, cycling tracks, parking , toilets and cafe facilities. Children’s play area, golf course and archery Beautiful sceneries with varieties of plants, trees, enjoyable in all seasons. The caretakers and gardeners are well professional to keep the plants , grass and footpaths tidy.

Another lovely afternoon at Bruntwood Park. Plenty of equipment for children to play on. Bouncy castle, large sand-pit and electronic interactive game. Small lake with ducks and geese and a lovely café for meals, snacks or tea/coffee. Also an ice cream/sweets kiosk and toilets.

VERNON PARK REVIEWS

The park's charming coffee place is perfect for a leisurely break, providing delicious beverages amidst nature's serenity. A stunning waterfall serves as a picturesque centerpiece, adding to the park's tranquil ambiance. Dog owners will appreciate the dedicated dog-friendly areas where pets can play freely. With its beautiful landscape, variety of amenities, and welcoming atmosphere, Central Park is an ideal spot for relaxation and recreation.

Had a nice little family stroll round here. It’s a shame the paths down to the river are blocked off but other than that it was a good walk. Nice water feature near the bottom and a maze that kids loved running around and burning off energy in. There is a bandstand which was great to see. Public toilets are downstairs in the museum at the top of the park where you will also find a little shop selling T-shirt’s, sweaters, bags, planters etc a lot of which is made on site.

A beautiful park to visit with family, pet or even if by oneself for a nice walk. The park is very tranquil and has a few steep inclines so could for jogging or walking for fitness. The pathway to river is blocked off for safety reasons and is a shame as this would be ideal to view. There is a museum and also a cafe within the park as well as a bowling green. All in all a great park to visit.
