MILESTONES MUSEUM REVIEWS

Fantastic place! Spent a very enjoyable 4 hours here, with loads to see and find out. The kids loved stepping back in time and going in and out of each shop. The cafe is a great place for lunch or tea and cake, with a lot to choose from. You can take your own picnic to eat outside if you prefer. Plus, there are free audio guides that are helpful to tell you more about each shop. Free parking and a year-long ticket are extra bonuses. We will definitely be back, as we didn't get to fit everything in in one 4 hour visit.

What a delightful few hours wandering around this amazing place. On entering the doors, you are taking a step back in time. The sounds and smells of an old town setup transports you back in time. Take time to visit every building where your memories come back to life. Remember to visit the old tavern where staff play the old piano whilst enjoying a drink. Visit the old classroom joining in with songs from your childhood, buying old-fashioned sweets in the sweet shop. Be prepared not to rush and take your time exploring the fire station, old railway station, the old fashioned pier where you can buy pennies and play games. Exploring every inch whilst having a fabulous day out. The resteraunt offers delicious meals and is reasonably priced. Children's menu also available.

What a fabulous hidden gem this place is! I definitely went back in time, so much to see, a great café and pub and so much history to learn about! We had an amazing day and will definitely visit again.

THE VYNE REVIEWS

Fantastic! Love the walled garden, woodland walks and lakes. There is also an excellent kids adventure park. The cafe is in a beautiful old building and there is also the ring that inspired Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings.

Beautiful place, very dog-friendly (four legged friends allowed in the downstairs seating area in the café, so you can stay warm and dry while you eat your lunch!) the house is gorgeous - no dogs in there though! Plus some stunning walks around the lake and lots of history to absorb as well. Definitely one of our favourite National Trust places!

Really nice place to visit with friends or family. Full of history and stories, the volunteers are there to help you on any questions you may have. Walk through the gardens and visit the house. Take same time to do the trails around the woods. Some places are wheelchair accessible. Definitely a well spent day here. Expect National Trust prices so if you have a membership it would be better for you. Plenty of parking available and free.

Very nice place, in walking distance from train station/shopping mall with parking and plenty of restaurants. Museum itself may appear small, yet it manages to use little space quite well. There are several exhibitions, or so it was the case during my visit today, three to be precise. Staff is very friendly and they do run little café for convenient snacks break. Free entry is just cherry on top.

My Mum and I(from Australia)had a wonderful morning with Suna Imrie making clay coil pots today. We were lucky enough to join in the craft group on entry to the museum. Bookings are normally required. We felt so welcome and had such fun and laughter with a fabulous group of adults learning this art form. Suna was excellent and we thank her for her kind guidance.

This was a lovely little museum. The staff on the door was very welcoming and friendly, and helpful. There were some very interesting artifacts found at local Roman sites, which I hadn't seen before. It didn't take very long to get around but there was a lot of good, interesting, information to read, so had I not visited with a child I could have spent more time there. I would visit again.
