“Eastrop Park provides a pleasant environment and recreational benefits to people. The park has been awarded the Green Flag Award. The park features a large boating lake, a miniature golf course, a café, and walking trails. Eastrop Park also has two good-sized parking areas. The park is an excellent place for walking, cycling, and even boating. Eastrop Park is also a good spot for small picnics and the boat club. The pond serves as a habitat for various wildlife, including kingfishers. The park has indoor and outdoor event spaces and a covered picnic shelter.

2025 Update: The River Loddon runs through the park, feeding into a balancing pond in the wildlife area. They also have outdoor activities for adult and junior.”

“Crabtree Plantation has outdoor fitness stations, woodland, footpaths and a playground. The park is a beautiful mix of woods and open parkland that used to be part of the Hackwood Estate. The park includes the Bolton Arch, butterflies, and walking paths. Crabtree Plantation is a great place to walk dogs. Kids have a playground to burn off their energy, and there are plenty of spots for picnics as well. The park provides a venue for kids and families to connect with nature and recreate outdoors. Amenities include an all-natural playground for children, covered picnic areas, and walking paths.

2025 Update: The park has on-site parking, a mobility impaired walker and seat(s) are available for the visitors.”

EASTROP PARK REVIEWS

Lovely park area with splash pool, little lake with pedalling boats to hire from The boat house. Really nice playground with variety of equipment. There's a few benches with tables and plenty of grass area to sit and have a picnic. Many bins around so it's easy to throw your rubbish before you leave. Nice footpath and cycle lane too. You can buy icecream, drinks and other refreshments at the park, next to the little lake. Although, there's sings for toilet facilities available, unfortunately they were locked and not open to the public on the day of visit. If you are going with car, there's convenient pay and display parking on the side. Otherwise, it's about 10 minutes walk from the Town centre and Festival Place parking. Overall, great place for a sunny day out if you bring all you need.

Love going there for my daily walk. Nice and clean. Would love to see more activities or things to do and can not wait for the summer to enjoy the coffee shop by the water and use the paddle boats. There is also a fitness track and a small water area where kids can play in hot weather (with picnic tables). You can also find a playground for the children.

Beautiful spot, great for walking dogs and a great place to come on a hot day to cool off in the little pool. There is also a big boating lake and a cafe. The river that runs through is great for your dog to have a paddle and cool off on a hot day. My dog loves it there. Loads of seats to rest on too and lots of parking places.

THE WAR MEMORIAL PARK REVIEWS

This place has an attractive parkland landscape of trees and garden features, to walk and relax in, it also has a bandstand, play area, BMX/skatepark + pump track, sports pitches, fitness area and all-weather tennis courts. The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, some are organised by the council, or community organisations. Other events are jointly organised between the council and charitable organisations such as the Thornycroft Society. In fact, Basingstoke Deane Rotary Club recently hosted the Basingstoke Festival of Transport which as always was amazing to attend and the best part, its FREE!

Really enjoyed this Park and hope that it is appreciated by everyone who uses it as it is a lovely place which is very much a hidden gem of Basingstoke. Great mix of ancient trees, grassland, plants and play equipment for the kids. The aviary was really nice to see as well, just a nice place to be. Good to see the sports pitches being used for Sunday League Football as well.

Lovely big open space, surrounded by trees, with an aviary full of budgies and finches at one end and a children's play area at the other. Hosts many of Basingstoke's big events.

With its expansive open spaces, it is an ideal location for leisurely walks, dog walking, and picnics. During the summer months, the reserve comes alive with a vibrant display of colourful flowers and a diverse array of bird species. Additionally, there is a dedicated tree reserve that provides visitors with an immersive experience of a woodland environment. Overall, Crabtree Plantation is a remarkable natural asset that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Lovely forest area south lots to explore. A well maintained playground and big open field as well as a large pond area with an abundance of wildlife. I highly recommend for a day out with the kids.

Excellent place to have a leisure walk and immerse in nature. Open meadows and scenic atmosphere to enjoy an afternoon stroll. Next time I want to go at evening time to appreciate the difference.
