This is a great little museum, run entirely by unpaid volunteers. The museum has six rooms packed with various items, information and stories. All clean and well maintained. There are a number of planes outside, including the Canberra which we were free to climb inside without being accompanied by staff. The highlight was being able to go inside the cockpit of the Vulcan, which was enhanced by a talk by one of the volunteers who was friendly and full of facts and information. Definitely worth.

Unexpectedly fascinating, surprising and poignant. Soldiering through the ages with a very human interest. Military facts, figures and jargon all there, but in every section real human interest stories, not only of the soldiers’ lives but also of the reputations of the military and how it changed in different circumstances in different periods. Artefacts and displays well-chosen to appeal to a wide range of people but somewhere I could definitely return to as there was a wealth of material.

This place has to be seen to be believed. The exhibits are varied and I especially liked the shops with their windows full of goods. The house interiors were also well worth looking at. It cost £2.50 and £2.50 for a concession (not sure of children prices). I would advise anyone going to take advantage of the complimentary looking glass offered. The museum was downstairs in the garden centre but there was a lift that took wheelchairs. We spent an hour looking around and marvelling at the hours.
