National Slate Museum is the place to explore the first quarry workshops of the 19th century. It is the workshops that served the needs of the quarry, and its locomotives were built in 1870. In 1969, the quarry closed and the venue began as the North Wales Quarrying Museum on 25 May 1972. National Slate Museum is the largest working water wheel in Britain that can be accessed through many footpaths. The museum provides salads and home-made cookies, snacks and hot dinners. Visitors can enjoy the tour of the museum with free admission.

Llechwedd is a place to discover the story of the slate. The history of the slate started 500 million years ago, with barley and mud deposits on the ancient seabed. The key feature of Llechwedd is its Llechwedd Deep Mine Guide, which has the UK's steepest narrow gauge railway and leads to the disused slate caverns more than 500 feet underground. The Quarry Explorer Tour in Llechwedd which goes to the farthest reaches of the site of Llechwedd to discover the area's mining heritage. Visitors can discover the hidden world of the Victorian slate miners with a beautiful underground lake and a Victorian village.

Talyllyn Railway is the restored railway constructed to hold slate in the 19th century and providing leisure rides and exhibits now. It is the worlds first railway preserved. The A historic narrow-gauge steam railway passes through unspoilt Snowdonia. You can take a walk in the country, travel wooded paths, experience waterfalls or visit the beach. The track begins at on the coast at Tywyn, and end at Nant Gwernol, It also passes through the snakes through the foothills, and Abergynolwyn. Talyllyn Railway is also featured with a cafe for your refreshment.
