THE BLACK WATCH CASTLE & MUSEUM REVIEWS
Really thoughtful and excellent history and displays of the regimental development over the centuries, lots of detail and interesting artefacts, well laid out and with fun interactions. The cafe must be good as it was packed out when we went! A very worthwhile visit.
Great place with super friendly and chatty stuff, ladie at the tickets office was absolutely amazing. The tour started with a 6-minute presentation video, but don't worry, it's quite interesting, and time goes quickly. There are 11 galleries, and it's all very interesting.
Popped in for a quick bite and saw this amazing sculpture just outside the castle entrance. It's called The Hauntings. Very impressive. Food in the bistro was lovely good service and very clean. Very friendly staff.

Perth Museum is the primary museum and exhibition venue in Perth, housed within the striking Marshall Monument, designed by David Morison. Construction of this monument commenced in 1822, and by 1824, it had opened its doors as both a museum and a library. Notably, Perth Museum holds the distinction of being one of the oldest museums established in the United Kingdom, and it was generously presented to the city by the Society in 1915. Over the years, due to substantial donations of funds and artwork, an expansion of the building was proposed to accommodate these valuable contributions. The museum takes pride in its accessibility features, including wheelchair access, a disabled toilet, hearing systems, and baby-changing facilities, ensuring it is welcoming and inclusive to all visitors.

PERTH MUSEUM REVIEWS
We're visiting Perth on short notice and today was a rainy day, so we decided to stop by the gallery (knowing nothing about it) so we could stretch our legs. We were very impressed. Our boys loved the creative area set up for kids (as did we). It was well thought out and inspired them to make and create. The shop was lovely and, in particular, has a great selection of books for kids and adults. I especially loved the selection of titles on Perth history and art. The galleries are limited at the moment, but they were perfect in every way all the same. The galleries are beautiful rooms, the artwork is gorgeous, and the tags and additional information printed on the gallery walls were interesting and thought-provoking. Some of the artwork had two tags and I found out the second set were written by students at a Perth school. What a great project, and enrichment for visitors to the gallery! You can even get a peek into the room where artwork is carefully packed up ready for when the new Perth Museum opens next year. What a treasure this gallery is!
I studied painting in New York City and was so pleasantly surprised by this museum my mother visited every summer growing up. There was a special exhibit on something to do with the River Tay and all the artefacts that were gathered from the river and cleaned polished and displaced set to a sound installation of children reading memoirs of elder people writing about their experiences with the river. Next to the artefacts was a label that said: "Please Touch". I was so happy to see this.
A small but decent museum and art gallery. Pleasant staff and a nice building go a long way to make up for the rather small amount of items and displays. A great way to spend an hour.

Branklyn Garden is a delightful 2-acre public garden that serves as a historical haven on a hillside in Perth. This enchanting space was cultivated with seeds collected by international plant enthusiasts and came into existence in 1922 when John and Dorothy Renton built a house on the property. During the spring and summer seasons, the rockery and peat walls burst into a riot of blossoms, creating a splendid spectacle. As autumn sets in, the katsura tree graces the garden with a sweet, burnt sugar fragrance. Branklyn Garden predominantly showcases various Chinese, Tibetan, Bhutanese, and Himalayan plant species. Additionally, the garden boasts an impressive collection of original plants gathered by the renowned plant collectors Ludlow and Sherriff. Visitors can enhance their experience by indulging in some delectable home-baked treats paired with a steaming cup of tea or coffee, all while enjoying the picturesque view from the terrace. This delightful setting offers a truly immersive garden experience.

BRANKLYN GARDEN REVIEWS
The gardens are really relaxing and peaceful. It isn't the biggest of gardens but what there is has been beautifully maintained and is definitely worth a visit - especially if you are members of the National Trust as it costs you nothing. We visited in September so there weren't as many flowers out as there would be in the spring/early summer but we thoroughly enjoyed what we saw.
Superb autumn colours - the acers and gentians were at their best today (20th October). Can't wait to visit in the Spring to see the rhododendrons! A huge bonus was the lovely knowledgeable staff who answered our horticultural questions. We enjoyed the delicious scones at the café. Highly recommended.
National Trust has done a great job with this lovely garden. Parking is limited with preference to disabled. Great tea room and a good range of gift items. I loved the plants for sale and was lucky enough to meet the gardener who I complimented. Friendly and engaging staff throughout.
