Baddesley Clinton is a Tudor manor house characterised by its timber-framed structure, surrounded by a moat and walled gardens in Solihull. Inside, it boasts well-preserved Elizabethan interiors, creating a captivating atmosphere. This historic home traces its origins back to the 15th century and remained in the Ferrer family's possession for 500 years. The house and its interior design eloquently reflect the grandeur of the Elizabethan era. Of particular note are the three priest holes, which served as secret hiding places for Catholic priests during a time of persecution in the late 16th century. These hidden chambers provided sanctuary for the Ferrers family and persecuted Catholics evading priest hunters. Visitors are encouraged to explore the enchanting gardens with stew ponds, a romantic lake, and a scenic nature walk. Additionally, Baddesley Clinton offers free entry for National Trust members.

BADDESLEY CLINTON REVIEWS
Beautiful old building, the moat makes it so exciting for children. Lovely grounds to have a wander in with absolutely gorgeous gardens. They also had a "treasure hunt" for my daughter to do in the house. We ate at the café and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful visit. The house and gardens are absolutely beautiful. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the house and the family.
Another beautiful place. You can walk for miles asking the wooded paths and have Tea in the glasshouse overlooking the river. The interior is magnificent and the guides are great to tell you to ask about the secret hiding places for the Priests back in the day.
