We would highly recommend John Wood for architectural services. John designed our extension and we found the whole experience really enjoyable. John's passion and enthusiasm was just what we were after and from the first time we met him he had lots of great ideas and suggestions for our new space. John's creative and considered approach ensured that our extension feels really special and unique and we felt that John gave our project a great deal of time and effort. His advice on planning and appointing a contractor was invaluable and helped the project run really smoothly.

John has been working on our extension project since 2017. He has taken our delays and plan alterations all in his stride. He has redesigned our upstairs space and his attention to detail is reflected in that work. We were delighted with the outcome. He is reliable, friendly and importantly brings fresh ideas to the table rather than just the bare minimum. We are excited for John to project manage the extension next year!

We are currently working with John on an extensive house remodel involving conversion of a large garage into a living space with small kitchen and bathroom, plus opening up the kitchen, dining room and conservatory, and updating much of the rest of the house. We have had very little experience working with an architect and the prospect of choosing one without a personal recommendation was daunting but we struck gold! We could not have wished for a better architect. John translated what we wanted to achieve and what our budget allowed into a comprehensive and creative set of plans. At the start of the process he presented us with a structured fee schedule which clearly set out his levels of involvement. This is very helpful as it has eliminated any uncertainty. He helped us find a great building contractor, made recommendations for suppliers that we have successfully followed up and has generally taken much of the stress out of the whole process of remodelling a home. Now that building works have started, he has been wonderfully quick in responding to any concerns, thoughtfully follows up on issues, has a good working relationship with the builders and has been proactive in many areas. John fully deserves his 5-star reviews and we cannot recommend him highly enough.
