MANCHESTER ART GALLERY REVIEWS
This is a superb free venue right in the centre of Manchester. Whether you want to spend a whole afternoon or just have a stroll during your lunch break, this place will regenerate your soul, tickle your curiosity, and restore your confidence in the ability of the human race to create beauty. Inside the museum, created inside the brilliant Greek revival building designed by Charles Barry for the Royal Manchester Institution ( a marvel in its own right), you can find it all: from Corinthian oinochoes and Attic craters down to cutting edge pieces of design and fashion, through art collections built in the 18th and 19th century. The display is cleverly arranged to spark questions and engage the visitor, and the staff is extremely helpful, passionate, and knowledgeable (I'm looking at you, Patrick!). Just get in, folks; you really have nothing to lose.
Great gallery with an interesting and amazing collections, especially for their paintings. Really love all of the paintings there. Great location as well. One of places to go in Manchester.
Interesting mix of classical and contemporary pieces to consider. A good couple of hours spent here. Well worth visiting for the collection in general rather than any specific items.

WHITWORTH ART GALLERY REVIEWS
This gallery has been my inspiration since I was a child. Now I bring my children to get inspired. And I hope that they will also bring their children in the future. The café is one of my favourites, and I just love the view and the fact that it’s connected to the park. I could literally spend. I was here without getting bored. You can study downstairs in the quiet area. You can get inspired in the gallery. You can have kids run around in the big hall. Its just the best
After two days in Manchester I was desperate for some green space, so I googled it - and apparently the Whitworth is the best the city has to offer, and I would agree. Friendly staff, beautiful architecture and a delightful park to walk around. I cannot wait to visit again next time I’m in town.
I came to see the Althea McNish textiles exhibition and it's brilliant, such lovely prints, well displayed and enough information about the artist & her work. I wish there had been a catalogue though, five postcards isn't enough. The rest of the gallery is very interesting and they seem to do a lot of work with children & parents. It looked like a great community asset.
