“Hunters Lodge Country Boarding Kennels & Cattery is a family-run business owned by Richard. They offer heated kennels, including 20 luxury options with underfloor heating, ideal for older and short-haired dogs. Some of the kennels can accommodate up to 6 dogs from the same family, depending on their size. Additionally, there are 3 exercise paddocks attached to the kennels for off-lead group or individual playtimes. Their daycare centre features 9.5 acres of secure paddocks with 6-foot high fencing and Scandinavian log cabins for rest and social interaction with staff. Their fully licensed kennels provide individual temperature-controlled underfloor heating, constructed to the same specifications as a new house. At Hunters Lodge, all kennels are heated, drinking water is available at all times, and moulded beds with vet bedding are provided for comfort.

2025 Update: All kennels have spacious outdoor runs for exercise and socialisation.”

HUNTERS LODGE COUNTRY BOARDING KENNELS & CATTERY REVIEWS

Because of an unexpected hospitalization, we contacted the Hunters Lodge just before closing time, and they kindly accommodated our dog. The team was incredibly accommodating! The kennels were impeccably clean, and the staff was friendly, showing genuine love and interest in animals. The supervised play sessions for the dogs were excellent, and most importantly, our dog was pleasantly tired out when we picked her up. There's nothing to dislike about their service. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

Absolutely can't recommend them enough. I'm always impressed when I turn up and they know my dog by name when they greet him (Frederick!) which is so impressive given how many dogs they see. They generally seem happy to see every dog that comes through the door. My dog has early onset dementia now and they have been fantastic in supporting his extra needs. I feel really confident leaving him here and the staff are all wonderful. Absolutely worth every penny.

My gorgeous Maltese rescue who is 2 years old or maybe a bit younger ( we’ve only had him since January) had a taster overnight session but I was still apprehensive about him staying for longer but didn’t need to worry. He was so happy and could tell very much loved by everyone. He’s told me he can’t wait to go back to play more. Please send me photos for the summer holiday as it’s lovely to get.

Our Cockerpoo Charlie has just returned from another 10 day trip to Village Pets. We can tell from the photos he has had the best time and has been very well cared for. The staff are friendly and all clearly have a love for the dogs. Would recommend to anyone!

Floof got his first groom from Village pets and what an awesome service - he did come home with a bow which he lost during play, the other dogs thought he just smelt too good! Thank you Phoebe & Village Pets for his lovely fluffy groom!

Our boy is handsome (in our eyes anyway) but the groomers makes him look even more handsome! She listens to our requests on length and has cut him beautifully. Highly recommend!

Charlotte is an Excellent dog trainer, very welcoming, very knowledgeable, we were struggling with our 6 month old Yorkshire Terrier, very excited, jumping up at people and dogs, went on first training session through the woods, Charlotte showed us how to do some exercises with Ollie to help him and us, so plenty of homework for all of us. Charlotte showed great patience, she is very calm which helped me as I was quite stressed with Ollie. It was nice for a trainer to give us more attention than other training companies which helps greatly, I’m sure we will be booking more classes with Charlotte in the near future.

Dog wiggles have been brilliant with our dog Bentley. He was a little nervous when he started day care, but Charlotte has been amazing in settling him in, getting to know him and giving him the time and space to feel comfortable. They send updates through the day, so I know he is having a great time and I know he is getting the best care and love whilst I am working. I would recommend them 100%.

Charlotte has been great for us - providing a highly tailored, ‘short sharp’ injection of expertise that we needed to get back on track with our delinquent teenage dog! We are feeling much more confident and under control! Thank you, Charlotte.
