“2025 Update: Whitegate Kennels is a family-run pet boarding business that focuses on the welfare of the pets, providing a safe and stress-free environment for them to stay while their owners are away. The kennels are individually heated, have granite tiled floors, and are fully insured and licensed by Tameside Council. Whitegate Kennels has professionally trained staff who genuinely care for the dogs. The environment is very clean and spacious, both indoors and outdoors, where the dogs can play with each other. Vaccinations must have been given at least one month before boarding.”

HAPPY DOGS DAYCARE REVIEWS

This is an amazing doggy daycare :) My dog Willow used to be nervous going in, but now she cannot wait to get in, and is barking her head off to tell her mates she's arrived. She is a very fit dog, but Happy Dogs always tires her out. Paul and Adam are very friendly, and the reception always looks great. I really don't know what we would do without them, it's a great place.

Great place where dogs are well looked after. There are 2 large arenas where they can play with beds; mats and trampolines for them to chill out on. There is an outside area to enjoy the good weather and lots of toys and ropes etc to play with. The staff are fabulous and they pride themselves on maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout. There is also a spa area for a bit of pampering!! Would highly recommend.

Happy Dogs is such a great place to bring your dog. My dog Bailey loves going. He makes friends, they play games like treasure hunt with treats/fruit, agility course etc. They have so many toys and places they can climb within the arena's. He loves it and always comes home so tired so it's a win win all around. The staff are great, so friendly and loving with the dogs. Paul and Adam have been great with me as I tend to change my days regularly, they are so flexible and really helpful. Would 100% recommend Happy Dogs.

I’ve been bringing my dog to Lower Hey for years, and it’s always a fantastic experience! The staff are so caring and treat my dog like part of their family. The large space for the dogs to roam around in is a real bonus, and I love that they offer grain-free food for my pup. He’s always happy and well-exercised when I pick him up. I wouldn’t take him anywhere else.

The team is incredibly skilled and thoughtful, giving my dog the attention and care he deserves. I’m always so reassured knowing he’s in such a safe, loving environment while I’m away. The space is great, and they even cater to special diets! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and caring place for their pets.

They have had a makeover and looks tidy. I had a pint of Proper Job and a burger. Both were lovely and a view of the harbour whilst you eat and drink.

Our boy is booked in for a week in October. After visiting the kennels with him and taking a look around, everything is spot on and up to standards. Karen is great and knows exactly what she is talking about. Also gave some great advice and made me feel so comfortable about leaving my boy here. Another review pending once he’s stayed for the week!

Always use these kennels when we go away, cannot fault them and the dog is always excited to go!! Karen is very accommodating and always willing to help with advice. Also offers puppy/dog training classes.

Always happy with these kennels. Our dog goes in happy and comes out happy and the people always positive to deal with.
