St Martins Church, one of Rochdale's most ancient religious institutions, fosters a secure and spiritually enriching environment that welcomes individuals from all corners of the community. Its history dates back to 1862 when the church was established on this site. However, as the late 1980s approached, the church suffered significant damage from dry rot, rendering it unsafe. Thanks to financial support from English Heritage, the church underwent extensive restoration and a complete interior makeover. Today, the church boasts an upper and lower hall, with the worship area half its original size. This reconfiguration seamlessly blends the historic elements with modern design, resulting in a truly splendid place of worship. St. Martin's Church is crucial in fostering a deeper understanding of faith and reverence for God within the local community. It offers its facilities to various groups, including local organizations, young children, teenagers, special needs communities, and choral ensembles daily. Additionally, the church hosts school services, further solidifying its position as an integral part of the community.
