I initially tried a dog training service nearer to me when I first got my dog, Ona, but didn’t really enjoy the experience. Walkabout Hounds was well worth the extra driving time! And on top of that was so much better value for money. I had a 121 session with James, and completed the dog training Level 1 course with Davina. Both are so friendly and really know their stuff. Davina taught me so much more than the course’s set lessons. Ona’s my first dog, and I found having someone with so much experience to sit and chat to about her progress each week invaluable. It’s very true what they say about owners needing as much training as their dogs, and as soon I had that improved understanding everything else followed much more easily. I wish I could have carried on to do the Level 2, but am sadly moving away before it would have concluded. But even just doing the Level 1 has helped Ona and I so so much. I would highly recommend!

I attended puppy level one with Davina. With my two frenchie puppies. And I really enjoyed my time with Davina she is wonderful and knowledgeable! Always made things easy to understand and lessons we’re comfortable and informative. My Frenchie’s were set up with super foundations that’s to Davina. Shortly after we finished. We got another puppy. An American bully. I had concerns about his lack of focus and engagement. I phoned Davina and she was happy to give me some tips and advice over the telephone. Along side the advice she gave me I began to do the things I learned at puppy level one too and low and behold I now have him focused and learning same as the others. Thanks to the help and advice from Davina my three puppies all entered their very first dog show and won five rosettes between them! Super proud and couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you so so much.

Extremely knowledgeable team and great training. They know everything there is to know about dog behaviour. Great shop too, selling tons including fab natural dog products, raw feed and loads more.

The YCA helped me with my very dog reactive German Shepherd, who was getting worse and becoming a real problem. After the 10 day reset course she was much better, and with the ongoing support to teach me how to instruct and control her more effectively she’s doing really well. I liked that there was consistency with the trainers, Elisha being the trainer who looked after us, always helpful and never getting frustrated with my ineptitude! That woman has an otherworldly ability to control dogs, it’s incredible. She’s like Caesar Millan but British. And a woman.

Had a wonderful 5 day development training week at YCA. I brought my 13 months old Belgian Malinois, who was very much dog reactive and I used to feel limited about where we go. After 5 days course his reactivity was gone and I have so much more confidence to take him to parks and even restaurants/pubs. The change after training was amazing, 20% of training gave 80% results. I’m so thankful to Jacob and the whole YCA team for their kindness, patience and support. It truly opened a new chapter for me and my dog Odin. Highly recommend!.

My dog was a complete nightmare, very reactive, making walks a complete headache as having to avoid other dogs all the time. I took the 5 day course, day 3 he's able to be around loads of dogs without any reactivity. So impressed, can't wait to see what the next 2 days brings. You guys are the best, thank you so much.
