“K9 Academy offers a full range of dog training classes. All their classes are conducted in a safe, secure dog training venue with indoor and outdoor facilities. Their spacious indoor/outdoor courts are fully fitted with AstroTurf and are designed for dog training. Their experienced trainers are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and K9 Academy is listed as a Status Club by the Kennel Club. They believe better results are achieved when the training is fun and relaxed for both the handler and the dog. The club is non-competitive, and the classes primarily aim at pet dogs using reward-based training techniques. Joy Cook is one of the lead trainers at K9 Academy. Joy has spent thirty years in dog training, competing in obedience with Border Collies, and owning a PAT dog who was a regular visitor to schools and youth groups. She has instructed training classes for almost twenty years and has been a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) since 1997. She is a Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme (KCGCDS)-listed examiner for bronze and silver awards.”
