I cannot recommend Russell highly enough. I have an American Cocker who, after four severe attacks, became reactive towards other dogs. For the last two years, he has barked, lunged at, and chased away any dogs that come near him, particularly large male breeds he feels intimidated by. In just a few minutes, Russell had a large, male, Alsatian/Akita cross (my dog's worst nightmare) standing over my spaniel and he was completely relaxed, tail wagging, ignoring the dog with his entire focus on me. I've never seen anything like it. He's since met around 10-15 dogs including two very aggressive greyhounds who were barking and lunging at him, and he completely ignored them, looking to me for attention and treats. Russell identified all the reasons my attempts to rehabilitate my dog weren't working and taught me positive, effective techniques that I can easily use to keep my dog under control and hopefully get him back to the friendly, sweet little man he used to be. Worth every penny.

Russell came to my home address. I was having issues with my nervous reactive 11 month old German shepherd cross. He gave me a simple breakdown of what I needed to do in the home and out walking. The improvement I have seen in her in a few weeks has been amazing!! She no longer has the feeling to bark at others when out walking instead looks at me for treats. So so happy and would totally recommend.

Just attended the 'Reading and Understanding Reactive Dogs' course. Russell and Juliet really know what they're talking about. The course was so informative, and really helped open my mind to different techniques. These guys are masters at what they do. Russell uses his own dogs to show what good can look like if you put the work in. Thank you for an amazing course! Highly recommend, even if your own dog isn't reactive. Knowledge is power when you're a dog owner and there is always something to learn!

LEADER OF THE PACK REVIEWS

Nikki has been brilliant at helping support our golden retriever who showed anxiety and reactivity towards other dogs. She started with an in-depth first meeting finding out about our Molly and her history, followed by some time outside to observe her behaviour. Nikki then left us with some training tips to try moving forward. Our second session was spent practising walking Molly past different dogs and coaching us on how to respond when Molly reacts. Nikki is incredibly knowledgable and shows a real love and commitment to the dogs she trains. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. Because of Nikki I can now confidently walk my dog whilst pushing the buggy, something I never thought I could do!

Nikki has supported us with our dog since having him as a puppy ,two years ago. She is an expert on everything canine and is approachable, sensible and very realistic. I'd recommend her to anyone needing training for their dog. When we have to go away without our dog, we leave him with Nikki and Tony, where we know he receives love , attention and lots of walks. We never have to worry as he has such fun. Thanks!

I can wholeheartedly recommend Nikki. She has been working with me and my 3 dogs over the past month or so and has worked miracles with me! She is an excellent instructor and really takes the time to get to know you and your dog (s) in order to give you the tools to work with them to have a happy, calm dog.

As a psychologist ( for humans),it was really important to me to find a dog trainer who truly understood the science of behaviour and could apply it with compassion and skill. I’m so glad I found Joana at Muddy Paws Dig Coaching in Portsmouth. Joana’s background as a mental health nurse was clear from the start – her depth of knowledge around neuroscience and behaviour shone through in every session. I originally sought help after my rescue bulldog developed anxiety following the loss of our other dog, and Joana approached the situation with professionalism, warmth and sensitivity. Her training methods felt completely natural, kind, and effective – never forced – and the results have been incredible. Winston is a much happier boy, although he is very sad his regular visits from Joana are now finished Joana is friendly, approachable, and truly professional. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for thoughtful, science-based support for their dog!

Joana has been so helpful. My dog loved her and she has helped me immensely over just 3 sessions. I have learnt a lot which I will continue to use with my cheeky puppy /teenager . She gave me lots of great tips and advice as well If you are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable dog trainer , then Joana is your girl.

Joana is brilliant! Very flexible, knowledgeable and friendly. We had some issues with a rehomed 6yr old dog and the change in just a few sessions has been remarkable. Milo absolutely loves the sessions and Joana is always available should we have questions between sessions.
