I came to NorthStar after a failing four tests with two other instructors over a decade ago, and because of that I was a bit nervous driving and was prone to little mistakes that could easily fail me in a test. Two weeks ago, after lessons with NorthStar, I passed my test FIRST TIME in Gateshead, with only one minor! The instructor was great because he has years of experience, so really knows his stuff, and while that means he does expect a high standard of driving once he's taught you, that was what I really needed to pass my test. There are some reviews here saying he can be forthright - all I would say is that he clearly felt invested in me as a student and wanted me to succeed, and that's definitely one of the most important things you need in a teacher. Highly recommend.

Great driving instructor, we really clicked well together. At first I struggled as driving is not an easy task but he gave me a confidence boost all the time and with his confidence I felt at ease. He is a firm instructor as he wants you to pass, but pass in a good fashion. I would highly recommend him if you need a service that tells you exactly what you need to know with zero nonsense. He will get you that pass. Always on time and good prices.

I had a wonderful time with North Star School of driving. The instructor was firm, but fair with me, taking time to help correct my mistakes. He was able to fit lessons around my busy schedule, which I was very grateful for. He has a brilliant knowledge of all the test routes and makes you feel well prepared for the test. Overall was a very positive experience!

I highly recommend Aftab to anyone looking for a patient, knowledgeable and professional driving instructor. The biggest positive about Aftab and his lessons are he tailors the classes according to the individual needs and very flexible over the timing. I passed my driving test on the first try. He is truly a gifted instructor and I am so grateful for his help.

Throughout my lessons with passport, I was taught by both Dawn and Andy, both of which helped me greatly! I started from scratch with dawn and thought I would never pass my test, being such a nervous person, but here we are! I now drive myself around every day, to work/uni and to the shops at least once a day! I can’t recommend passport enough! I also found it helpful that different instructors have different ways of remembering things, this helped me a lot! Thankyou.

Andrew was great, I passed first time with zero faults. Very professional and he clearly knows exactly what he's doing; on test day there was nothing that I encountered that we hadn't practiced a bunch of times. Wouldn't have come close to passing without the lessons!
