TOP 3 OLD MOTHER HUBBARDS REVIEWS

First time at Mother Hubbards even though I've wanted to go for a very long time. Came here with my family, ordered the normal fish and chips. Portion size was really good for what you pay. The fish batter was crispy, just how I like it. I'm not a big fan of curry sauce, but I do like to try different ones. The curry sauce from here tasted too much of cardamom, so I wasn't keen. Place had an adequate amount of seating. A couple of little complaints, the server did mess up our order, but it was easily rectified, and everyone was happy. Also £1.20 for a can is a bit extortionate. But we would definitely go again, especially when we're craving fish and chips.

Lovely fresh fish and chips but was very heavy so it was hard to finish. Nice sitting area but chairs are quite low. Obviously a nice place to have lunch.

We stopped by. We had spicy fish bites with chips, and nuggets. Very nice. First visit the service was very slow. Second visit all good.

This chippy is amazing. I'm not even kidding. I'm an old woman who's born and bred in Manc, meaning I've been in quite a few chip shops, and this is far and away in my top three of all time. One of the other ones is in Stalybridge (Bridge Chippy) and the third was one I grew up near, and sadly is long gone. If you're in Oldham and need lunch, and want a good chippy, walk around the back of Primark and go to Levers. The staff are so lovely, and they're quick too, even though they're busy quite often.

It'll be a shame if Oldham loses this historic little gem - 3 of us went in today fir fish & chips a drink & b&b about £11 each , lovely big fish & good chips & peas / gravy , service fast & polite - ill be back soon , cheers guys & good luck for the future .

Food was amazing. Best chippy in town and will always come back here. Parking and paid parking are available nearby. Close to bus stop and tram stop. Heart of town centre and lovely when you want a quick chippy. Prices are decent and fresh chips as well. I highly recommend who wants a chippy in town centre.

Working around the corner from here and just wanted a bit of something to eat, just got some chips and gravy, very nice. The home made pies looked good but wasn't that hungry. Will try next time though.

The guy at the counter answered all my awkward questions to a T and the counter staff were very good service with a smile especially in this hot weather the guy running around making all the food deserves a pay rise.

Just had fish rice and curry and all I can say is it was superb disregard the reviews complaining of soggy food due to being placed in polystyrene trays as this isn’t the case now they’re in boxes so stays lovely and crispy would recommend this chippy best I’ve had in a long time thank you very much.
