I came to The Old Original on Thursday for a meal with my new fella James. Although James is a chef at The Old Original, I was really impressed with all the staff, that we was still treated with the same service as customers. The food was lovely I had the battered mushrooms with alioli and Lasagne which was probably one if the best Lasagne's I have tasted I could taste the different layers rather than it being mixed together. All the staff was very welcoming and friendly.

Absolutely beautiful little traditional 1700's pub with some wonderful ghost stories, surrounded by beautiful views over country side and hills and lovely walks through the local history. The food was outstanding from the fresh made soup and salads were fresh and delicious, and the mains were flavoursome and filling not to mention how reasonably priced it all is for such amazing quality. The staff were fantastic friendly and helpful over the phone and in person. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Will definitely be back again soon.

Popped in on our way back to Manchester. Probably my first ever visit but we used to regularly visit this area 40+ years ago. Very much focussed on food on this Sunday lunch but no problem getting drinks. Jorvic going for J.W.Lees bitter, very good. Oddly no cider on tap, only bottled. We all liked the look of the pub and food menu so hope to book and return for a meal. Parking is tight so you may need to walk 50 to 100 yards. We were there from about 2.30 pm for 40 mins. Possibly a lull between early and later eaters; seemed to be filling as we left. Small front patio for the odd sunny day. Good views. Historic list of previous Landlords. No Flat Erics though.

ZARAKS GRILL LOUNGE REVIEWS

Very delicious food, great atmosphere, and amazing customer services. I was the competition winner for the Lamb leg giveaway on Instagram. I am really grateful for the amazing prize, the lamb leg was delicious , full of flavours and the staff has made us feel very welcomed, I will certainly be visiting again very soon.

Chef Qamar and team have smashed it at Zaraks. Loved the service, especially by Adam, and variety of steaks is excellent. Top it off with an Irn Bru? cannot go wrong.

Recommended by a friend, we went for my daughter’s birthday. The atmosphere was great and the staff were really amazing. So much so I offered to pay the service charge which was optional. Usually in places when you have so many children you are made to feel like a nuisance however Zaraks was an exceptional to that rule. They made the whole experience very pleasant. Will defo be going back x.

WHITEGATE INN BEEFEATER REVIEWS

The Whitegate Inn offers a great selection of food. I think it’s fair to say that there’s something for everyone in their menu. I ordered a Rib Eye steak and wasn’t disappointed. It was cooked exactly how I like it, it and came with just the right amount of fries. After checking out their dessert menu, I couldn’t leave without trying the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream. It didn’t last long enough to take a photo! I’d give this restaurant 10/10 and will be sure to make a repeat visit when I’m up North again.

Not been to this pub for a bit, so was a bit weary. On arrival we were attended and served by a Tia(if I,ve got her name right), she was attentive and polite and curious. The food arrived quickly and was very good.will definitely be visiting again at some point.

We really enjoyed our breakfast here. £10.99 for continental and hot food. the cooked breakfast is made to order and there's vegan bacon and sausages. there's also lots of teas, cereals and the crossiants are delicious. they will provide soya milk on request too.
