“Verulamium Park is an award-winning park that covers 100 acres of wonderful parkland close to the city. The park has an outdoor fitness area, beach volleyball courts, a café, children's facilities, an indoor swimming pool, and a model boating lake. Verulamium Park holds both the Green Heritage and Green Flag Site awards. The park is a popular attraction with many facilities throughout the year. “Clarence Park is a Green Flag-awarded park. This is a formal park that covers an area of 25 acres. The park offers an artificial sports surface, bandstand, children’s play area, croquet lawn, sensory garden, sports pitches, teenage outdoor fitness area, Victorian-style cricket pavilion, and tennis courts. Clarence Park has many sports facilities, such as tennis, bowls, cricket, football, and hockey. There are many activities on the playground carefully chosen for toddlers, small and large children. There's a short slide for toddlers, a larger one above a playful tunnel, and a large one coming from the top of a climbing. Access to the park is available from many entrances, and there is always clear signage indicating when the park opens and closes every day. Clarence Park is open 7 days a week throughout the year.

“Greenwood Park is a well-maintained public park for kids, including large sports fields and many picnic areas. The park has a triple rope trail, turning bars, two spinner bowls, a double springer horse, a sand activity centre, a toddler multiplay, and a see-saw. Greenwood Park also has an open field area, suitable for various games and activities, with 5-a-side goals, benches and picnic tables, public tennis courts, a cycle path, football and cricket pitches, woodland walks, and wildflower meadows. Greenwood Park has a toddler multiplay activity centre with a climbing frame, slide, and fireman’s pole. There are two swings, including one inclusive seat suitable for children with disabilities.

Wow what a fantastic well maintained park! We went to the splash park which was free!? In other parks I have to pay so I was very happy. The cafe was excellent and it was nice that they had a separate hatch for ice creams and drinks. The playground is top notch. Literally can't really fault it..... although so large I didn't get to explore it all, next time.

A wonderful park with great Roman history (and named after the Roman City where it stands). It is a wonderful place if just wanting to stroll through, but also has several good signs highlighting the Roman (now ruins) city walls and gates. It was slightly flooded when we were there but no impacts to the main paths.

Absolutely beautiful park on the edge of St Alban's city centre. At around 100 acres in size it's got plenty of room for everyone. On my visit it was a nice day and people were having picnics and lots of dog walkers, but still tons of space for everyone.

CLARENCE PARK REVIEWS

Great park with little restaurant, big open space, playground with I believe the only one sandbox in town. There is also a basketball basket, and you can find some painted stones hidden everywhere by kids, but remember to hide them again in different place when you find one and you can post a photo of it on st Albans rocks Facebook page. Also lots of flowers during spring and some in a summer. But remember to leave before dusk as they closing a park and you can be lock in, happens to me and kids couple of times in a summer, but you can go out under a gate near that house that is in a park.

It's my daily ritual to visit Clarence Park, I love it!! To witness cricket match, lovely puppies, cute babies a right for brooding. From past 2 years it's been my hobby to this park and detox my mind, enrich my soul and breathe fresh air.

Good playground area for kids. Park is not big but playground is really nice. If you are going to with your car, you can find a parking area inside. My children loved there.

GREENWOOD PARK REVIEWS

Lovely big park in Chiswell Green, St. Albans. There's a large car park and a bus stop right outside the park. There's a big kids playground that's recently been refurbished. There's also football and cricket pitches and tennis courts. Greenwood Park also has a large community center with halls and sports facilities to hire. There's also a small coffee shop and picnic benches. Really good park for a good walk, with large open spaces and a small wooded area which has a fabulous display of bluebells in the spring.

A gem of a park, lots for kids of all ages, climbing apparatus, zip wire, sandpits one for little ones and one for bigger kids, swings and slides, see saws etc with a big slide up a hill. All nicely maintained. A great open cafe nearby serving great offerings and catering to vegans and those with allergies. Free parking is available too.

Excellent .Went to do mosaics in pavilion. Children loved it .Then spent couple of hours playing in park ,and eating icecreams.And having drinks at the cafe. Will go again.Children 1year,4 year ,10year and a 13year all enjoyed themselves.
