NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE MUSEUM REVIEWS
An interesting museum with much more to see than you would expect from outside. The displays are well-presented. There is provision for children to explore some of the displays. There are also craft and science activities on some days. We visited on Wednesday afternoon. The café was closed. There is car parking and entry is free. We enjoyed our visit.
I love that this museum is FREE!! Given that it is free, they still provide a good day out with changing exhibits and great little activities. An instant hit with gruesome loving teenagers because there is a "dead body" in the entrance!! The air-raid shelter is an amazing experience, though it may be too loud for young children. I gather them all in there and remind that their great grandmother, who died in their lifetime, raised twins during the war. A great place to visit.
Really amazed at the quantity and quality of the exhibits, 99% of fossils and relics etc are local, warm welcome by staff and very helpful, highly recommend going best in north and south of the Humber area in my opinion.

MESSINGHAM ZOO REVIEWS
Found this little gem of a zoo while looking for things to do in North Lincolnshire. All the animals are really well looked after and have plenty of space in their enclosures and enrichment opportunities. The owners and volunteers were all very friendly and we could have talked to them all day about the animals and how the zoo came about. We ended up walking around twice and spent a good deal of time at each enclosure, followed by drinks and homemade cakes.
The staff here are so friendly and you can get so close to the animals it's fascinating for our children aged 4 and 6. It is a small facility so we usually do a couple of laps to take it all in. There is often an animal being fed or a keeper who is happy to explain more about one of the animals which engage us all. We also love feeding the emu. Our kids love it here, when my son reaches 5 we will pay for the animal feeding experience. The cake is also pretty good.
Really lovely little Zoo great friendly staff my. Daughters favourite place. Our favourite thing was to watch the otters lunch time. Video shown.

BRIGG HERITAGE CENTRE REVIEWS
Happened upon the centre today, above the library in the Angel building, completely by chance. Free to get in, with free parking. Normally I'm with family on the beaten track, so it was a great discovery and I will visit again. The centre has dedicated volunteers, who are kind and helpful, they're so friendly. The exhibition area is huge, there's a flat-bottom boat, an Ancholme finds, temporary exhibits, classes, crafts and activities are available. Check the opening hours, it's a fascinating place worth a trip, there are so many interesting facts and pictures and physical artefacts. The jewel in Briggs crown.
Visited on a Saturday and took advantage of the free all-day weekend parking in the town. It was also the monthly farmers market and the town was buzzing despite the inclement weather. There is also parking directly behind the Heritage centre, and a lift and stairs take you to the first floor. The library is on the ground floor. We were warmly welcomed by volunteer staff who were very passionate about many of the exhibits and spoke knowledgeably. A craft workshop was in progress too.
Unexpected little gem in the centre of town. Lots of interesting local information & very well set out. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in answering any questions.
