Then in 1993, the centre was expanded to provide a rescue shelter for endangered native animals and captive-bred prey birds. Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre provide permanent homes for unwanted or mistreated exotics and captive breeding prey species, and also the temporary foster homes for exotics until they find permanent homes. The centre is the licensed zoo and operates with several other organisations to support wild animals in need. Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre offers free admission for children age three and under.

Visitors can see the farm animals heading to the WindMill Playbarn on Amerton Farm or a ride on the Amerton Railway and also you can tour the British Wildlife Rescue Center that offers care and recovery for sick and wounded dogs. Amerton Farm features with the race-down slide from floor to ceiling is included in the play stable. The farm has many things for the entire family providing a great day out.
