Wynyard Planetarium and Observatory is dedicated to exploring the wonders of astronomy and space. Opened in 1994 by the 14th Astronomer Royal, Professor Sir Arnold Wolfendale, FRS, the Planetarium features seating for up to 36 people. This setup provides a comfortable and immersive way to experience the cosmos, the solar system, and celestial phenomena. Wynyard Planetarium and Observatory is operated by the Teesside Astronomical Science Centre (TASC), a non-profit charitable organisation set up to run the facility and to promote astronomical and space education, along with the assistance of both the Cleveland and Darlington Astronomical Society (CaDAS) and Durham Astronomical Society (DAS). TASC's mission is to offer a specialised facility for the Tees Valley, fostering interest in science, physics, and technology and encouraging future professionals in STEM fields.

2025 Update: Their planetarium can project both the night sky and full-dome 360 images and video.
