obs. Lots of walking paths and places to explore, stopping points and food outlets. Number of play parks en route. It’s about 3 miles total walking distance around the outer perimeter. Very clean and tidy. As with any zoo, the big cats and primates can’t have as much space to roam and play as they would in an ideal world but they are safe. We went on the weekend when it’s very busy and in the week as well, during the week is far better and less crowded. The zoo relies on donations, paying customers and ticket entry - it’s all going to a valuable cause.

Got in with our Colchester zoo gold passes Great zoo, all paths and walkways are super wide which is nice All the fences and enclosures are nice and easy to see into Very large zoo Could do with a couple more bins here and there and some more maps but all in all a good day out.

Definitely should've picked a better day as it absolutely tipped it down. But it's always a good day going to the zoo.

Absolutely loved our visit, my son had visited before and wanted to go again for his 9th birthday. His little sisters are 6 and 7 and have ADHD and they were completely entertained. Lots of things to touch and experience which was perfect for my family. A highly recommended day out for a family of any age.

Amazing science centre! We’ve never been before and it was a full day out. My 5yo loved it - great live shows every half an hour as well as pre-booked shows. Lots of things to do. The staff were incredible - really passionate and welcoming.

Great place to be with the children and they have fun and learn at the same time. The workers are very friendly. We have been there before but we will definitely come back again....If you go, don't miss the planetarium, visiting it is fantastic The whole family enjoyed it.

WINCHESTER CITY MUSEUM REVIEWS

Set in a very pretty building that looks like a little castle. Well situated in the town. Set on 3 floors which are all fully accessable, which was perfect for me as a wheelchair user. I was especially pleased with the top floor as it was all Roman exhibits and I really didn't expect that, as a Roman history addict this was great for me. The lady on the desk was polite friendly and knowledgeable, a pleasure to meet and made my visit even better.

We thoroughly enjoyed the museum and all the exhibits which told the story of Winchester in a clear and exciting way. Though little could be touched by me, a blind person, there was enough information to make the visit thoroughly worth while and rewarding. It would be good however if the Moot horn exhibit could be made to work so that we could hear the sound of it. The atmosphere of the museum was friendly and welcoming , it was accessible to the disabled and there was an interesting lift which was very easy to use. All in all the visit was very pleasurable. Thank you.

A brilliant place to stop on a rainy day to find out more about the history of Winchester and the surrounding area. We loved the scale model of the city. And were fascinated by the various displays, particularly the Roman finds. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained.
