THE BLACK HOLE REVIEWS
This was a great place to stay the night before starting walking on the South Downs Way. Breakfast was excellent, the room was very nice, and it was a quick walk into the center of town. Walkability: Ten minutes from the very center of Winchester, directly along the start of the south downs way.
I loved this B&B. Spent two nights at The Black Hole (don't let the name put you off!). Superb location beautiful walk into Winchester town (thanks to information provided by our super hostess!) The whole place was really quirky, especially the rooms. Breakfast was great. If you are bored with usual B&B's and are looking for something a little different this place is a must!!
Great stay at The Black Hole! Comfortable & clean rooms, bathroom was clean and amenities were lovely (size is a bit small but can work around it) - receptionist was friendly and informative, and the breakfast was great. 24hr coffee, tea & water facilities in the breakfast area and the location was perfect, just off the high street and close to Chesil St car park! Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend for the price!

ST JOHNS CROFT BED AND BREAKFAST REVIEWS
What a find !A lovely warm welcome from Dotty and Nick into their beautiful grade 2 Queen Anne home. Great location 5mins on foot into the town of Winchester.Friendly ,inviting breakfast around a table in a gorgeous working kitchen (Thank you Zoe and Dotty).Had a great 2nt stay with husband and friends celebrating my birthday.
Well ... what a treat !!! Dotty & Nick were so warm and welcoming from the very start. An absolute beautiful grade II listed house, stunning large room, the beds were so comfortable and our private bathroom was lovely and clean. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay, including the freshly cooked breakfasts from Nick each morning, whilst chatting away with us at the table - so a huge thank you for giving us such a relaxed and wonderful break away !! Fantastic location too - 5 mins walk from town.
The owners are easygoing, natural hosts with great recommendations for places to go in town. The house itself is a maze of comfortable, whimsical rooms and treasures, and the grounds are the size of a public park and have beautiful views of the cathedral and the city. They also do a better breakfast than many restaurants we went to throughout Dorset. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

CATHEDRAL COTTAGE BED AND BREAKFAST REVIEWS
Absolutely fantastic. Nice cosy room, lovely breakfast, and gracious hosting from Christine. A short walk from all of the best that Winchester had to offer as well as good pubs and restaurants just around the corner, while still getting a quiet night’s sleep. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. I had a wonderful time here and when I come back this is the place to stay.
A lovely little cottage, very quiet, so a good night's sleep. The hosts were kind and welcoming which made our stay very relaxing, excellent breakfast! It was within walking distance of all the places we wanted to visit.
We stayed here for two nights over the May Day bank holiday. Cathedral Cottage itself is perfectly located for everything Winchester City Centre has to offer, yet still so peaceful that I struggled to believe that I was waking up at the heart of the city. The double garden room is separate from the main house, very private and opens onto the garden. Richard was very welcoming, happy to spend time talking to us about the area and things that we might like to see/do, lovely breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Highly recommended.
