The Barrels is a friendly 18th Century coaching inn that is formed partly from the old city wall. It is one of the last multi-roomed pubs in Hereford. It attracts an eclectic clientele who come for the lively, friendly atmosphere and, of course, excellent beer. The Barrels treats a hugely popular beer festival in aid of local charities. The pub is also home to a class of ladies' and men's darts, pool and skittles teams (all of which welcome new members). The Lichfield Vaults is located in Church Street which runs from the Cathedral Close to High Town and comes into existence around 800AD. It emerges in the written records of the city in the late 13th century as ‘Cabochelone’ or Cabbage Lane. They offer customers a traditional pub experience in a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. They are a popular city-centre pub assisting Greek and Mediterranean food together with six real ales and a good selection of wine. They also have live music on the last Sunday of all month.
