THE LOBSTER SHACK REVIEWS

It was a lovely way to spend my anniversary. A lunchtime trip to Whitstable led to a visit to this gem of a restaurant. The staff were not pushy, and we were free to pick a table. We opted for a large outdoor space as we had our dog with us, and it was a nice warm day for once this year! But dogs were welcome inside. Good service and friendly staff, we had Oysters, of course, very fresh and then local day caught cod. Wonderful. Thank you Lobster Shack. See you again.

Walk in only. We were lucky to get a table next to the window so it’s so enjoyable to look at the seaside and sunset and eating and drinking. Ordered full seafood platter and a lobster. Lobster isn’t too big but it tastes great! Oysters are fresh. Love the shrimp on the shell, they are sweet and fresh! However be careful with the bread as flys love it.

Always enjoy the yummy fresh fish and chips (gluten free option) and ambience here. Friend had barbecued prawn and soft crab tacos and said it was fab! Often queues so come early or wait. Seats and tables outside but may need to use QR codes during busy periods.

You can’t miss this place if you’re in Whitstable. Food was top - fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. Enjoyed the Japanese influence in some of the dishes. Cheery and homely service in a casual home-feel setting. Owner took us through the history of the place and even consulted the chefs and waiters to ensure we were getting the correct info! Pictured is the back room where we were sat. Corkage applied so bring your own booze. Hope to come back.

Wonderful food in a tiny but pretty restaurant. Started with oysters, then their crab cake starter made with delicious light mayonnaise. Cod main course with a superb butter sauce. Michelin star food quality. Lived up to the recommendation of friends. Don't miss this lovely place. You can also order homemade seafood arancini, fresh crab, prawns, hot smoked salmon and other seafood at the shop counter to takeaway or eat in the restaurant. Bring your own wine and chiller bag.

We had the tasting menu and it was absolutely stunning - delicious food, lovely service and a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend - if you can get a table.

We ate dinner here a few weeks ago during the height of the season and the restaurant was very busy. We booked late in the day but they fitted us in just the two of us they had space at the bar. The Service was efficient and the bar staff were really lovely considering we were sitting right under their nose is eating our dinner. The food was lovely. My partner devoured it and said it was the best food he needed in some time. A really lovely night with great atmosphere, Nice food and friendly staff.

Came to Whitstable for a day trip from London and found this dog friendly restaurant by chance and absolutely loved it!! The staff were welcoming(even though we jumped in just before closing for lunch time) , friendly and efficient. Had Fresh oysters, Prawn bisque for starter, Hake with tarragon sauce, Fish pie in puff pastry for main, Chocolate mousse and Normandy apple pancake for dessert and all of them were so delicious! Also the pricing is very reasonable. Would love to come back to Whitstable just for this restaurant again soon.

Very nice seafood restaurant in the centre of Whitstable. It's worth booking as they just managed to squeeze us in. We had mussels followed by the bacon wrapped steak, both of which were delicious. Beer is unfortunately only in bottles but that's a minor gripe, but something on tap would have been preferable.
