ROCKFISH TORQUAY REVIEWS

Came here for lunch on Friday and was pleasantly surprised. We were looked after by Claudia very well and from the specials, ordered the Ray Wing as well as the grilled Calamari. The Ray Wing was very meaty and the sauce was divine! It was drizzled with a buttery, lemon and finished with capers. The meat was so tender and tasty! The grilled calamari was perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. I find it hard to get perfectly cooked fresh calamari at times but this was cooked extremely well! We ordered the garlic slaw and spinach as a side. The special came with unlimited fries. The garlic slaw was very garlicky and highly recommended if you enjoy garlic! I was pleasantly surprised and would revisit without hesitation. Our waitress Claudiu looked after us very well and made our meal even more enjoyable! Thank you for the amazing experience.

Rockfish had most excellent service and great food. The restaurant is quite well refined and the prices reflect this. I would thoroughly recommend this place. Or at least for the food we had. We had two sets of scallops for starters these were excellently presented in their shells with a nice crispy topping. Followed by our main course which was silver mullet for my wife and grilled cod for me. Again these were fantastic. For sweet my wife had ice cream, I had a lemon tart with sorbet. The tart was made in the style of a Crème Brûlée. Exciting crunchy and tangy goodness with a perfect sorbet. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Top notch.

Delicious, very fresh, seafood in a laid back restaurant... You couldn't ask for more when you're staying by the sea. We were served by Harriet who explained the fresh fish available by annotating the placemat on the table with options and prices. I went for fried anchovies to start (delicious) and a beautiful piece of buttery dover sole for my main course. My wife opted for mussels followed by dressed crab and we were both delighted with our choices. We'd definitely seek out Rockfish again if we are in the area, and they appear to have a number of local locations to try.

Wow! It is one of the best sea food restaurants I have been to. It's not flashy or trendy and a bit dated but full of character. On arrival, we went upstairs to the wine bar . Fantastic selection of wines served by a very polite gentleman at our table. We were led downstairs to the restaurant and shown the menu, catch of the day fresh from Brixham and other specials. The choices were all good. My son had the prawns, scallops, and mussels to start , my wife crab salad, and I the grilled king prawns in garlic butter. Yum yum yum. For mains, I went for the hake with a tomato and basil oil , and the others had 3 fish special and the turbot. All were cooked to perfection and tasted Fantastic. Finished with seasonal brulee and Brandy snap with ice cream and Amaretto. Overall experience was great . Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Well done, No. 7 fish bistro.

Everything is special about this place. The food is exceptional, the service is brilliant and the drinks are amazing. The mussels scallops and prawns that are cooked in the garlic butter were to die for. I could have drunk the garlic butter by the pint. The monkfish was some of the best I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection. They also had a white port spritz… wow! Possibly the most refreshing and moreish drink. The whole experience was amazing. It is expensive, but when the service, food and drinks are as good as this, you would happily pay more.

Very friendly and family atmosphere in No 7 Fish Bistro! Skate delicious! Very good service, waiters are friendly and openly welcome with the help of foreign guests! Thank you.

Wow what a place! Was walking along the end of this harbour and it was all quiet only to enter the restaurant and realise this is where the scene is at! Staff very friendly and welcoming, we ordered chicken wings, mussels and fries. The mussels were fabulous and large, bread delicious also. There was a band playing and it made for a great atmosphere. Look forward to returning on our next visit.

I could have written a dozen great reviews for this place already! Incredible food, quite literally every time. The service is always fab and the vibe is super chill. If you’re here on holiday, don’t miss this hidden gem. And if you’re a local and this isn’t somewhere you eat regularly, you better check yourself.

We had the seafood platter here. Half the price of further up the harbour and fantastic. The mussels and sauce were the best I've had anywhere. Only criticism is we needed a spoon to finish the sauce as it was so good.
