Sheffield Cathedral was initially a parish church elevated to Cathedral status in 1914. It is one of the oldest buildings present in the Sheffield community. The church is also listed in the Grade-I buildings list and the Town Hall. Sheffield Cathedral building's construction dates back to 1200, but the new construction was completed in 1966 with a mixture of medieval and modern architecture. The cathedral has accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. The building and the cathedral belltower was damaged in a fire accident in 1979. It also has an organ which is still used by the choir.
