St Wilfrids Church is the Historic England designates it as a Grade I listed building. The church is an active Anglican parish in the Diocese of Chester, the Archdeaconry of Chester, and the Deanery of Great Budworth. St Mary's Shrine is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building and is an active Catholic church. The parish was established and served by Benedictine monks from Ampleforth Abbey, but following the withdrawal of Ampleforth Abbey from the parish in 2012, it was served by priests from St Benedict's Church, Warrington. Since November 2015, the church has been managed by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) and operates as a shrine dedicated to the pre-Vatican II Roman Rite. The church is well-known for the beauty and reverence of its liturgy. Since the summer of 2017, Sunday Sung Mass and daily Low Mass have been streamed live.
