“St Wilfrids Church is the Historic England designates it as a Grade I listed building. The church is an active Anglican parish in the Diocese of Chester, the Archdeaconry of Chester, and the Deanery of Great Budworth. St Wilfrids Church is one of the oldest churches, with 11th-century remains of the original 1120 AD church. The oldest part of Grappenhall is the picturesque village centre on Church Lane, which is now a Conservation Area comprising mainly 17th to 19th-century buildings. St Wilfrids Church's community explores the Bible and applies its truths to everyday life. They are blessed with a beautiful church building. The setting of the ancient church within the conservation area provides a reassuring sense of the continuity of Christian worship and rural peace in a rapidly urbanising landscape.

2025 Update: They livestream every Sunday at 10 am. Reverend Mark is the Rector. The church seats 300 people with standing room.”

“St Mary's Shrine is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building and is an active Catholic church. The parish was established and served by Benedictine monks from Ampleforth Abbey, but following the withdrawal of Ampleforth Abbey from the parish in 2012, it was served by priests from St Benedict's Church, Warrington. Since November 2015, the church has been managed by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) and operates as a shrine dedicated to the pre-Vatican II Roman Rite. St Mary's Shrine is well-known for the beauty and reverence of its liturgy. Since the summer of 2017, Sunday Sung Mass and daily Low Mass have been streamed live.”

Very beautiful architecture. I used to visit this gothic church with my primary school, Farfield, Church Of England, our headmaster, Mr Walsh and Mrs Walsh always led the way and mrs rodgers the lollypop traffic lady made sure we got across the main road safely, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I was 9. I'm now 39. The time has gone so quickly.

We only explored outside but what an amazing building! You can just feel the history! So amazing to know that my ancestors have been this church and it probably hadn't changed much since they did.

My parents are together in the Churchyard in the Peace Garden and I visited them yesterday. I would like to thank the person/persons who have been taking care of the area as it looks lovely, so neat, tidy and well cared for. It definitely gave me a feeling of peace that someone would take time to do this. Thank you once again

A beautiful, well kept church and yard. Environment friendly, with areas dedicated to encourage pollinators. Everyone connected with the church is friendly and helpful.

Beautiful Church building. We attended a brass band concert by the Lymm Concert Band. A very enjoyable evenings entertainment.

Traditional Mass with Traditional priests in a beautiful house of God, what a wonderful experience. The reverence and respect in this Holy place is something to behold. Every Novus Ordo Catholic should have a chance to experience the true traditions of our faith … I was one of the lucky ones! All the people, and especially the priests, are so friendly. I think this would be an education for all the Novus Ordo mindset, certainly a stark reminder of what a true Vocation really is. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

The Gospel at the Easter Vigil this weekend was sung in such a reverent manner that it was a prayer by and in itself, such that I’ve never heard a Gospel sung or said before. Deo gratias. God bless and keep the holy and inspiring priest.
