Helping Hands have been looking after my uncle at home for a few years now. It has always been a pleasure to liaise and communicate with them. They are responsive and friendly and provide a splendid, caring and considerate service to him, on many occasions their carers going ‘above and beyond’ often without being asked. I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

High quality is demonstrated throughout the company from the standard of care, staff, training, resources and excellent customer service. It is a very holistic, friendly and most importantly caring company. Durham branch is a welcomed addition to the local community.

Prior to working for Helping Hands Durham, I worked in both a care home and for another domiciliary care company. I have worked here for almost a year and did quite a lot of research first. I did a review of staff comments about a range of companies and Helping Hands came out top for everything. I then applied for and got this job. I was not disappointed. Caitlin and the other staff have all made me feel really welcome. I have been supported and had opportunities to do further training and CPD is an important aspect with a variety of courses on offer. What I have found different from other organisations I have worked for, is that the management really do try to meet the staff needs and preferences. Your availability is discussed and rotas approved by staff before acceptance. The managers listen and are there for support when needed. The clients get excellent care as staff are happy in their roles and everyone has a joint ethos to do our best to make people whether staff or clients happy. Travelling expenses are fair, travelling times are realistic and guaranteed hours contracts provide security.

My 98-year-old Mam has returned to her own home after spending 7 months in a care home. We were let down on the day she was going home, and Crescent Homecare swiftly sorted us a package, for which I’m so grateful. We’re over two weeks in now, and I’m very impressed with the quality of staff. They all seem to genuinely care and Mam is treated with respect and dignity. The company appears to be very well run and the staff are always on time. Office staff very helpful too. Would I recommend them to anyone! Most definitely. From our experience so far, I’d say they’re a first-class care team who are very engaging. Well done everyone at Crescent.

My mum has had care from Crescent Homcare for about two years. She has dementia but wants to live at home so we all agreed to four visits a week to ensure she eats. The other three she has other care input. Also Mum needed an assisted bath once a week. What I love about the company is that if we need to change the care plan it's done immediately. One week my mum wants this to eat then she doesn't and one week she wants her bedding changed and then she changes her mind. The home care works around Mum's needs only. Also, I can read daily (which I do) the carer's notes online which is so reassuring. All in all, I would recommend.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the standard of care and attention I received from Crescent Homecae carers. They were very kind, caring and nothing was a trouble to them. They were prepared and did go the extra mile. Thank you, to them all.
