CAERPHILLY CASTLE REVIEWS

A long awaited visit to Wales largest castle. Beautiful castle that has had some marvellous restoration work done. The great hall and chapel was closed off due to some maintenance work, the receptionist was very kind in giving us a 10% discount on admission fees and a free guide book to compensate. However, there was still plenty to admire and enjoy. A huge thank you to volunteer Mark for his extensive knowledge and understanding on the history of the castle. An absolute delight to talk to. Walking around the outskirts of the castle was very nice, especially to see numerous amounts of birds nests and goslings. Very enjoyable day indeed.

A nice couple of hours spent in Caerphilly with a visit to the Castle. Spent a good while with Tim who gave us lots of interesting facts and information about the castle and its history. Castle is currently being refurbished which means not all the castle is accessible but still very much worth a visit and we were given the guide book free of charge. Good value tickets with the option to upgrade and visit more Welsh castles.

Very surprised on how big this castle is. Spectacular views. Also, very interesting the fact that this castle is literally in the middle of the town.

This is the statue of Thomas Frederick Cooper who was an amazing Welsh prop comedian and magician,he was a giant of a man standing six feet four inches......His trade mark was his red Fez hat and his well known catch phrase was- JUST LIKE THAT-......He was a brilliant comedian and magician being a member of the magic circle and it was so clever how he made us all laugh by making most of his tricks go terribly wrong It was so funny to watch..........He was born in the Welsh town of Caerphilly on the 19th March 1921.....He was married to his wife Gwen Cooper from 1947 to 1984 and had two children Thomas Henty and Vicky Cooper.

Amazing place to meet for a beer coffee or a bike ride. Situated in the middle of Caerphilly, just like that it has access to roads, cycle tracks pavements, cafes and pubs. The statue is a fitting tribute to a great comedian.

This famous comedian's statue still stands in good condition near the mid point of Caerphilly. Easy to spot from the middle car park, there is potential opportunity to take selfies next to this capturing the castle in the background... though maybe bring a selfie stick or tripod to capture a wider angle.

The Caerphilly Miners Centre is a historical gem! Engaging exhibits vividly depict the mining heritage, while interactive displays and knowledgeable staff offer a captivating journey through Wales' rich industrial past. A must-visit for history enthusiasts!

Visited today to attend the Adopt a bunny Easter event with my granddaughter. Absolutely fabulous so much to do, and snack included AND my granddaughter got to take a little bunny home! She absolutely love it! Thank you to the events team for organising this.

Lovely planting job done. Recently opened a cafe, not tried it yet. Wellness hub on floor 2 is well worth a visit.
